Best Indonesian BBQ on the street, Chicken Satay!

Hello, foodies!
Today i would like to share about one our food experience on the street. This time we wanted to try Madura Satay in Haji Majid Street - South Jakarta and it was located in front of a goverment elementary school.

Here how the satay food stall looked like

The food stall was only opened on 5pm afterward. The owner came from Madura, a small island on the east side of Java. This place had one famous dish, chicken satay.

Then let me try the satay here. Actually they had lamb and chicken satay, but my mom couldn't eat lamb, while me, i like chicken the most. So we ordered the chicken satay with the rice cake.

The owner had an assistant which help him to roast the satay while he prepared the peanut paste for satay.

This place only had a table with not many chairs, many came to buy and take it away.

The seller was friendly and nice, he told mom he came from Bangkalan, the city in Madura which was located near with Surabaya, where we had lived. We didn't wait a long time to get our order.

Then here were our food

The chicken satay tasted great. It was savory and also sweet (from the sweet soy sauce). The chicken was soft and also tasty. You could add the chilli sauce to make it a bit spicy.

For the food we ordered (20 sticks of satay and 2 rice cakes) and also two glasses of the hot water, we paid 40,000 IDR or around 2.86 USD.
