Happy Thursday Steemit!

I'm going to show you the Pentacles suit from the Cat Tarot by Carol-Anne Eschenazi and Diana Cammarano today, while also showing one of the steps I recommend whenever getting a new deck.

When I get a new deck, I will put them out on a table in order,(ace to 10) according to suit and line them up so I can see how the deck shows the energy growing and maturing.

When you line them all up, you can also directly compare the Ace of Swords to the Ace of Cups and so on, to see how the cards show mental energy as opposed to emotional energy.

It's a useful practice, and once you understand how the energy grows, you won't have to refer to the book anymore.

Let's take a look at the Pentacles suit of the Cat Tarot.

We start with an idea and some tools, here in a Picasso cat.
The Ace is the first step in bringing an idea to life.

The 2 show a Fred Astaire cat dancing as more energy applied.
"light and graceful" energy so you don't get bogged down.

It moves to the 3 as Mozart letting the energy flow.

In this deck, the energy progresses to the 4 as Madonna, putting it all out there and not taking no for an answer.

In the 5, 'Phaedracat' shows us a bit of obsession and that guilt is not helpful.

Gulliver shows up in the 6, saying that it's time to explore new lands and meet new people.

3.jpg
In the 7, Steve McQueen says to have no fear! Race forward and push your limits!

The 8 is all about self discipline, and the message is to keep training your body and mind. No time to go soft...

In the 9, there is a return to imagination to keep the audience engaged. "Invent as many possibilities as you can."

The energy finally reaches maturity in the form of a Walt Disney figure.
He is the creator of worlds, and the builder of an empire.

What started with an idea and some tools has become an empire, and a universe unto itself.

Here's a look at the court cards in the suit of Pentacles, including the young Frodo Catgins, Caterix, Barbara Streicat, and The Wizcat of Oz.
They also show a maturation of energy, from the fool at the beginning of a journey to the master at the end.

Studying the cards in order this way is a pretty good way to get acquainted with a new deck, and can get us to the point of doing clear readings pretty quickly.

Let me know what you think of this deck, or any methods that you have when you pick up a new deck!

Blessings to you Steemit...

This deck is refreshingly creative, @tarotbyfergus. It’s a take on all cat lovers ;)

It is pretty cool:)

I can imagine our @barbro would love it :)

Those are interesting!

I am slow when I get a new deck. I usually have to consider it quite a bit first and then I don't usually get to touching them right way. We just kind of stay beside one another.

I often will talk to them like I do with my plants, prior to them coming home with me. And then before I ever read with them, they've slept beside me, too.
