TagAI launches $TSTEEM on BNB Chain, joining hands with Steem Blockchain to kick off the process of community tokenization on social media platforms.

in #tag2 days ago

WhereIN, in collaboration with TagAI, officially launches $TAGAISTEEM (abbreviated as $TSTEEM) — a 1:1 mapped asset of $STEEM on @BNBChain. The token contract address is:0x028fa1c6A7aB9f52a9f33d33e4AAfad367BD20B4 .

01 $TSTEEM: The Mapped Asset of $STEEM on BNBChain
Visit https://bridge.tagai.fun/, connect your Steem wallet, and you can cross-chain $STEEM held in your wallet to BNB Chain. Your $STEEM in the Steem wallet will be sent to @tagai.steem, and the $TSTEEM contract will send an equivalent amount of $TSTEEM to the address you provide.

The reverse process works the same way. After connecting your BSC wallet, you can use this cross-chain tool to convert $TSTEEM back to $STEEM at a 1:1 ratio.

02 TagAI Supports Liquidity Pools for $TSTEEM
Simultaneously, TagAI will provide initial liquidity for $TSTEEM on Pancakeswap. Anyone can not only trade $TSTEEM freely but also add liquidity to $TSTEEM trading pairs to earn transaction fee revenue from those pairs.

TagAI will also cross-chain all $STEEM acquired from the Steem Blockchain to @BNBChain, supplying liquidity to the $TSTEEM-$BUIDL trading pair.

To support the widespread adoption of $TSTEEM, TagAI has partnered with the BUIDL community within the TagAI ecosystem. This enables holders of $TSTEEM and $TSTEEM LP tokens to earn community credit on BUIDL, allowing them to better participate in the BUIDL community’s social prediction markets and content creation while earning $BUIDL rewards.

03 TagAI Continues to Support the Integration of Steem and BNBChain
As outlined in "Kicking Off the Process of Community Tokenization in Social Media Networks," the combination of Steem Blockchain and BNB Chain will initiate the process of community tokenization within social media platforms.

Users can create community tokens on BNB Chain, publish content (launch social prediction markets) or interact with content (make predictions), and earn community token rewards through the Proof-of-Brain mechanism. Content and social interactions are stored on the Steem Blockchain, while community token distribution contracts are supported by BNB Chain — enabling us to jointly build community-driven tokenized organizations.

Since WhereIN’s launch in 2019, the most exciting aspect for the WhereIN team has been Smart Media Tokens (SMTs). This time, we are combining BNB Chain with Steem Blockchain to fulfill the unmet potential of SMTs. WhereIN and TagAI will continue to advance the integration of Steem Blockchain with the smart contract chain BNBChain, and promote the utility of $TSTEEM — the mapped asset of $STEEM — on BNBChain.

04 Cross-Chain from Steem to BSC :
1). Install the Steem Keychain Wallet Extension
Open the Chrome browser, go to the Chrome Web Store, search for "Steem Keychain" and install it.

image.png

2). Configure the Steem Keychain Wallet
Click the Steem Keychain icon in the upper right corner of the browser and set a wallet password.
Import your Steem account: Enter your Steem username and the corresponding master password/posting key/active key to complete account binding.

image.png

3).Access the Cross-Chain Bridge
Open your browser and visit bridge.tagai.fun. The page will display the cross-chain direction "Steem → BSC" by default.

image.png

4).Connect Your Steem Account
A "Connect Steem Account" window will pop up. Enter your Steem username and click "Connect";

image.png

Steem Keychain will then pop up a "Sign Message" request. After confirming that the account and message are correct, click "Confirm" to complete authorization.

image.png

5).Fill in Cross-Chain Information
 Enter the cross-chain amount: Fill in the number of STEEM tokens you want to cross-chain in the "Amount" field;
 Fill in the BSC recipient address: Enter your BSC wallet address in the "Recipient Address" field.

image.png

6).Initiate the Cross-Chain Transaction
Click the "Initiate Cross-Chain" button; Steem Keychain will pop up a "Broadcast" request (using the Active key). After confirming that the account and operation are correct, click "Confirm".

image.png

7).Complete the Cross-Chain Transaction
The page will display "Success! The transaction has been broadcasted successfully", indicating that the cross-chain transaction has been submitted successfully.

image.png

Click "Close" to close the prompt, wait for on-chain confirmation, and then you can check the cross-chained assets in your BSC wallet.

05 Add Liquidity:

Pre-Confirmation:

1).The cross-chained TAGAISTEEM has arrived in the BSC wallet.
2).The wallet holds sufficient BUIDL tokens (on the BSC chain), and the value of the two tokens matches the current exchange rate.
3).The wallet has been switched to the BSC Mainnet, with enough BNB reserved to pay for Gas fees.

Operation Steps:
1). Access the PancakeSwap V2 Liquidity Page
You can open either MetaMask Wallet or OKX Wallet (ensure it is set to BSC Mainnet) and visit the PancakeSwap V2 Pools page (a V2-exclusive page, compatible with the created V2 pools).

image.png

2). Connect the BSC Wallet
Click "Connect Wallet" in the upper right corner of the page, select your wallet (e.g., MetaMask, OKX), and authorize the connection (ensure the wallet address is consistent with the cross-chain receiving address and the liquidity pool creation address).

image.png

3). Select the Created TAGAISTEEM/BUIDL V2 Trading Pair
Click "Add Liquidity".

image.png

In the token selection box, enter the information of the two tokens by "searching with contract address" respectively: the BSC chain contract address of TAGAISTEEM; the BSC chain contract address of BUIDL, and confirm that the pair is "TAGAISTEEM/BUIDL (V2)".

image.png

4). Enter the Liquidity Amount
Enter the amount of TAGAISTEEM you want to add, and the system will automatically calculate the required amount of BUIDL according to the current exchange rate of the liquidity pool.

image.png

5). Authorize and Confirm Adding Liquidity
When adding liquidity to this pool for the first time, you need to click "Enable TAGAISTEEM" and "Enable BUIDL" respectively, and confirm the authorization in the wallet in sequence.

image.png

After the authorization is completed, click "Supply", and a transaction details window will pop up (including the estimated LP token share, current pool fee rate, etc.). After verifying the details are correct, click "Confirm Supply".

image.png

6). Verify Successful Addition
Wait for block confirmation (1-3 minutes), and the page will display a "Success" prompt to indicate completion.

image.png

Return to the PancakeSwap V2 "Pools" page, and you can view the LP share, accumulated income and other information of the TAGAISTEEM/BUIDL V2 pool in the "My Positions" list, which proves that the addition is successful.

This is an interesting step toward tokenizing Steem on BNB Chain — and the bridge functionality is a practical start. That said, I’d like to offer two critical suggestions for long-term sustainability and trust:

  1. Centralized Custody Is a Risk
The current bridge sends $STEEM to @tagai.steem — a single controlled account. For a project claiming to enable community tokenization, this creates a central point of failure and trust.
Recommendation: Transition to a multi-sig wallet (e.g., 3-of-5 signers: community reps, TagAI, BUIDL, independent dev, Steem delegate) to hold the locked $STEEM. This aligns with the decentralized ethos Steem was built on.

  2. Oracle Dependency for Minting
The 1:1 minting of $TSTEEM relies on off-chain verification. If TagAI controls the oracle or trigger, the token’s integrity is not truly trustless.
Recommendation: Use a decentralized oracle (e.g., Chainlink or a simple on-chain validator set) to verify Steem blockchain transactions before minting $TSTEEM on BNB Chain. This removes single-point control and makes the system verifiable by anyone.

True community tokenization isn’t about cross-chain bridges — it’s about decentralized ownership.

Just my two cents from someone who believes in Steem’s potential — and wants it to be secure, not just shiny.

Just bridged it! I swapped 10 $Steem for 10 $TAGAISTEEM ($TSTEEM) and immediately got a chance to jump in and supply liquidity on PancakeSwap.
