Hello Steemit Community: I Am VERY Shy, But I'm Ready For My Intro - My Name Is May Liberty & I'm Not Just A Nurse!

in #introduceyourself6 years ago (edited)

It gives me great pleasure to join Steemit,
and meet the Steemians on this wonderful blockchain.

A big hello to you all...

They say you can meet the friendliest people here, and that's true.

Please excuse my shyness, eventually in the future I will show my face. I am standing next to my favorite tree. It is dark and cold outside, the perfect time to start Steemit. I'm a night owl anyway. I've been used to this, working nightshifts as a nurse and caregiver.

I would like to say a big Thank You to my good friend @happyharmonymay for showing me
how to set up my Blog page and how to Steem... and post on Steemit.

Now I'm ready to start...

I was born in England, and I love to travel and meet people, from all over the world.
So Home is where the heart is...

I am a Nurse and Caregiver, I'm the one of the ones who look after the sick and elderly who get left behind in society. Because of the cost of living is rising, most families cannot look after their parents and loved ones like they used to, and that is why more and more elderly people have no choice but to move into a nursing home or senior citizen center.

So the government is making us more poor and isolated, so we have to work more now for what we used to have in abundance back then. And sad to say, the elderly folk and the sick ones are those who suffer the most. I take great pride in my job, although it can be stressful at times, but there is nothing more beautiful when you get a big smile for all your hard work.

I love making a difference, don't you?

It is very, very sad that many young people do not want to choose this as their profession any longer, which makes us who are in this profession to have less days off, because someone has to do the job. But enough of me venting for the moment, we will talk more about this subject later in another post. I will explain ways of how we can do more for our senior citizens and bring society closer together again.

Some of my hobbies are writing poetry, and short stories. I've actually finished my first manuscript for a novel I had worked on for a long time, and I've started a Steemit fiction novel based on my work experience as a nurse and caregiver, and it's called

Good Nurse, Bad Nurse!

Which I will post soon. Doesn't that sound good?!

The reason why I wanted to join Steemit is because I like the way the community comes together and helps each other. That was the most attractive thing that intrigued me to want to become a part of it all and I'm really excited to be here.

I have so many ideas how we can end the loneliness for everyone and encourage people to integrate and break out of their comfort zones with Steemit. Thank you for reading my first introduction, a big thank you to @dan and @ned for this wonderful platform a great invention based on the blockchain technology; a technology made simple so that we can all learn and adapt with it, no matter our age.

Please feel free to comment, follow and connect with me, I look forward to meeting you all

Welcome dear @mayliberty
So glad you have finally joined us all. You are going to love it here and we are going to have so much fun. I can't wait until you share some of the stories you have told me.

Thanks, my dear... Yes I have a lot to share

Welcome to Steemit, @mayliberty! It's good to have a caring individual such as yourself on this platform. I think you'll come to see real quickly that caring is key here on Steemit. I can relate to your post, because my father did caregiving for a while before he started working as an LVN at a hospital. His stories always broke my heart, and the amount of crazy stuff that he's had to deal with while caring for other people just blows my mind! Like I'm so glad there are people on this planet who have the patience and compassion necessary to take care of those people who have been left behind by their next of kin.

Since you're just starting out on here, the best advice I can give you is to come check out the @MinnowSupport Project on Discord. It's a great place to meet people and make your first friends and followers on the platform, which will translate to views and upvotes on your posts. Click on the animated banner below for more information! :) I look forward to seeing you around!

Oh, Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the invitation.
I will join soon... I am glad to hear about your father, it's good to help others
Like Steemit is doing too

Welcome @mayliberty to the Steemit Community! I appreciate the hard work that you do to take care of the sick and the elderly. Such an important job. I would like to echo @rodeo670's sentiments about joining the Minnow Support Project. It's a wonderful community and a great way to make Steemit friends!

Oh thank you very much @isaria, you have a very pretty name. I do enjoy the hard work helping the elderly. Thank you for the suggestion, I plan to join soon. Also thank you for the nice @minnowsupport vote, that is kind of you. I just saw it.

Hi mayliberty! Welcome to Steem! We're glad to have you here!

I am a Steem curator and have started a new series "The Daily 5" where I pick five new Steemians to share with my followers that they should know about. I have selected you as one of my five for today. Your post has been featured in my post you can find here: The Daily 5.

Unlike some of the bots and follow 4 follow spammers you will find in the Introduction tag, my work is 100% human and without any required response from you. While I invite you to come check out the post and interact in the comments, nothing further is required but that you enjoy your time here on Steem!

Have a great day! Looking forward to seeing more of you on the platform!!

Thanks for the warm welcome...

You’re very welcome

Hello fellow nurse
I suppose I'm an ex-nurse. I haven't worked since Feb. You got me with Not just a nurse. The number of times I have heard that! Usually nurses themselves say it, I'm just a nurse. Hospitals couldn't run without them and are run by them. Why do we still say it.
I look forward to hearing more from you. And it doesn't matter if you are camera shy. I think I had a carefully angled photo that showed my eyes for my verification. Write, take photos of your world or utilise an image.

Steem your way.

I used to draw on night shift if I had a quiet one. I hope you don't read this at work, I know the Q word is a curse, not to be uttered in shift.
Following 😊

Hi, Thanks for your warm reply... you were working as a nurse too. That's great.
Nice to meet you @girlbeforemirror... I will follow you too.
Yes, I am a bit shy... but now I feel so Comfortable here!

Hey @girlbeforemirror, that's cool to know, I never knew you were a nurse also. I'm curious as to why the Q word "quiet" would be a curse during shift? Please teach me. I hope you are doing well by the way

Superstitious nurses. If you say it out loud you jinx yourself and have a busy shift. One crazy old school nurse actually blamed me for a bad shift when I was a new grad. I worked psych, we are an interesting subgroup of nurses 😂

Dang lol I hear you on that one. Busy shifts help the time to pass quickly, but I am sure it is strenuous and stressful without a doubt

Very stressful sometimes

Yeah I bet!

Welcome to steemit, it's the better place to find friends here and to learn a lot about cryptocurrency, it's also the best social network ever that is paying to people real money ! Steem your best and have a good luck ☺
