The Unspoken Letter

This morning I woke up earlier than usual. Somehow nobody pulled me out, besides scribbling out a paper streak in front of me with a drawing pen. As I straightened my mother's warm tea, I tried to grab my phone on the table. I pressed several numbers until a voice came from the other end, "Hello."

I smile briefly, thinking of what's the exact sentence to greet Raina.

"Hello, Raina. Good morning, "I say with a radiant smile.

"Vino! Good morning, too!, "she replied with his distinctive, vibrant voice.

"Later afternoon let's go to the park?," I invite.

From the other side, there was no more sound. I was surprised to find out that the connection had been lost. I began to realize something. My phone is dead.

After hours of drawing and getting bored, I intend to come out this afternoon. "Incidentally my father motorcycle is idle in front of the house," I thought.

Immediately I took the key and hurried away.

Arriving at the park, I open the phone and type a short sentence. "When are you coming here?"

Just when the message was sent, Raina was already in the park. From a far distance, I could see him walking closer, his bright smile that melted his heart, and his long black hair fluttering in the wind. Unconsciously, I started to smile.

"Hi, Vin! Have you waited for a long time huh? "she said.

"Hi," I replied. "Nah, I just arrived, too," I added with a chuckle.

Raina and I sat there and began to tell at length about everything. This is what we often do on a Saturday night. At least we can forget the fatigue after day to day thinking about the lesson.

Raina is my classmate. Shee was the only person I knew when I first came to school. I, who as a transfer student who does not know anything, fortunately just met her who was my junior high school friend. I am also more familiar with her.

Remembered my first day at school. That day I set out on foot. Armed with enthusiasm and confidence, I entered my new school. Inside the school, I was confused to find the teacher's room. Nor did I have the guts to ask anyone, because there was nothing I knew.

Suddenly someone patted me on the shoulder. The tub in the lightning bolt I jumped. Suddenly I turned to see who it was that surprised me just now.

"What are you looking for?" Someone asked in a subtle voice. Apparently, she was a female student.

I smiled broadly at once. "Teacher's room, next door, which one is it?" I asked a little sternly.

Instead of answering, the woman looked at me like she was seeing a newly captured prisoner. Her eyes did not take care of me. "You, Vino?" She asked.

I nodded. "How did you know-"

"Yes, uguun !! Do not you know me? I'm Raina, your junior high school friend, "she said with a small laugh.

I remembered something and watched her. In my memory, it flashed two years ago. I started to notice something and started laughing. It turned out that I was dealing with my old friend. Without knowing that we have experienced a momentary amnesia.

All melted at once as Raina, and I remembered each other. We kept laughing and chattering. I started telling her how to get to school here and asked her many things.

"Well, I do not think we'll be together again," she said with a smile. Her eyes did not stare at me.

"I do not think so, either," I said, staring at her anyway.

That day I was accompanied by Raina to the teachers' room. All this is like a dream. I can not believe I can meet Raina. Such a sweet meeting that I can not forget forever.

"Vin, we'll pass right away. Where are you going? "Raina asked.

"Hmm ... I still want to go to UNNES. So what?"

Raina paused as if thinking of something. "Why do not you go with me to UNAIR?"

Now it's my turn to be silent. Somehow this conversation I do not think as usual.

"Sorry, Rain. Actually, I also want us together, but I also have my own dream. You also have, right? "I say heartily. Cloudy Clouds hung from Raina's face all along. My feelings say something is wrong.

"Hopefully your dream is achieved," she said briefly, then excused herself to go home. I'm silent. The only sound of the wind that pounded the leaves. Only the sound of insects that sometimes sounded accompany my solitude now.

The next day while in class, I tried to approach Raina who was busy reading books. The look of her smiling face sometimes made her look more beautiful than usual. Maybe that's the reason why I like it and watch her quietly. I positioned myself next to her.

Raina gasped when she found out I was beside her. His eyes looked at me gloomily; his smile line disappeared instantly. Again I felt irritability in Raina.

"What's going on, Rain?" I asked softly as I looked at her closely. The questioners were silent, reluctant to respond. I too fell silent.

I looked at her again, but now more serious. "I'm sorry about yesterday. It's not what I mean- "

"You're not wrong, Vin. I should be the self-know. We have our own way, "Raina cut in. Finally, I heard her voice. But still, the tone was heavy.

I paused instantly. Somehow Raina's remark was like a difficult mystery solved. All my heart, I tried to deepen his glassy eyes, searching for a stored meaning. I don't know.

Graduation day has arrived. All children are now celebrating with their respective versions. There are for groups and parties at the beach, holding a party graduation, and some even celebrate on the top of the mountain. They seem to want to exist as a new high school graduate. For them the graduation is a must, that's their principle.

It's different with my class. Maybe because we have a different principle from the others. We just held our own show at school. We deliberately put it here because by celebrating it at school will give the impression of a sacred, monumental and historical separation.

"How about the lampion is it ready yet?" Asked Widi, my friend who is believed to be the event organizer.

"Right!" I replied, throwing up my thumbs. Then, we begin to prepare everything to the end. Night of lantern flight hope will soon begin.

Tonight our celebration is only enough to fly the hope lanterns, sing together, and hug each other. Although it's so simple, it's warm us inside. As if it's the last meeting of us, our crying voice is filling the night.

We all waved to the fluttering lanterns. Hope, dreams, and desires have been sent to the heavens. "After high school," we all thought.

At the other end, Raina was seen standing waving her right hand up. Her eyes with the lights shone. His faint smile, made me stagger to get closer. Then, while lining up, my arms waved.

Raina was flabbergasted when I found out I was standing beside her. Her face looked up, so we stared at each other. For a moment, I felt my heart ripping, my nerves stirred. Suddenly my feelings became more and more unfamiliar. Finally, my hand touched her face.

"Rain, if there's one chance I can have, I just want us to stay together," I said it gently, deepening into Raina's wet eyes.

"If the opportunity were there, then I'm sure you would always be there for me," she replied in her hoarse voice.

Nothing can hold me to embrace. Every second is sweetly rolling, warm and comfortable in the heart. I do not know what I'm feeling right now, but I do not like to let go of one second. I want to stay like this.

"Don't change, until forever," I told her.

Drizzle. I'm still stuck in front of the blank paper, thinking of what words I should write for her. My eyes suddenly stunned with a photo of a farewell evening with my friend. What a wonderful memory it is. I can still feel their presence even in the shadow of a moment coming and going.

"It's going to be this fast," I mumble as I wipe the photo. It struck Raina in my mind. For a moment I thought of her, remembering that night when it was all very beautiful. I smile to myself.

I looked back at the paper, my heart moved to write something that had been paused. My hands are now dancing on the paper, writing every sentence that is written so firmly, containing my acknowledgments and wishes to Raina.

"Thank you for the wonderful memories of that night. Sorry if I can not be the one that you want to be. But you will still be the most beautiful for me. Stay like Raina that I know. If there is a chance, promise me you will be willing to be with me.

Vino"

I felt the vibration once the sentence I managed to write. Suddenly I wanted to hand it over to Raina immediately. At least for the last greeting before he went abroad.

I went to Raina's house. I knocked at the door and called her name. However, no results. "Looks like the house is empty," I thought.

"Raina!" I called once more.

Suddenly the door opened, someone appeared from behind the door with a frown.

"What is it?"

"Excuse me. Is Raina there, ma'am? "

"Raina went abroad last night," she replied.

"Oh, yes, Maddam. Thank you, "I said and turned and walked away.

For a moment I felt an empty freeze. The absence of Raina's departure made one conclusion, that she wanted to leave without I know about it. Now, it's like losing control. Suddenly I felt a new sense of solitude for the first time, but it felt so deep that it made me lose my temper.

I looked at the envelope containing the letter to Raina, bitter. The letter I had hoped would be my memory for Raina, became unspoken. Hopefully, what I feel now, she felt it anyway. Though a thousand reasons say 'maybe' and I'm just silent as a real rancor.

The End.

hello
Congratulation , it seems easy to read , there were some grammatical errors like after "Riana is my classmate ."shee"" , also i think it would be better if you explain more details so the reader doesn't distract from it and get deep in your text , after all i think you would be a good writer ;)

Thank you for the suggestion. And sorry if there's a grammatical error. I'm not a native english speaker so I'm trying my best for it :)
