We are looking for ways to "get" into the depths of the body even deeper, reaching the level of molecular biology and genetics, and at the same time we pursue only one main goal - to find the principal solution to the cure for this or that disease. But, apparently, this is not the way to solve the problem. We know practically all the elements of the body systems - organs, cells, molecular formations, etc., but so far we do not know all of its systems (target associations of these elements), as well as the laws of thermodynamic interaction between them. The human body is not a set of organs and cells, but a whole very complex system in which all elements are very accurately matched to each other and function on a very delicate balance of interactions between themselves. Any imbalance of these interactions is a pathology that leads to "breakdowns" (destruction) of the corresponding elements and which are then detected by methods of organo-morphological analysis. To detect pathology in the early functional period (imbalance of functions) is possible only with the help of functional diagnostics.
But this is not enough. We also need an appropriate tool for analyzing this data. This tool is a system analysis. He studies the pathological process itself and its cause long before the appearance of morphological changes, detected by methods of organ-morphological analysis, can foresee the very appearance of the pathological process and can differentiate the normal response from pathological. If we see a patient's infiltrate, sclerosis or a tumor, this means that he is already at a fairly late stage of the disease. These changes were preceded by abnormalities in blood flow, pressure, or tissue metabolism. Only after functional changes appear morphological.
System analysis classifies by functional characteristics (signs of action). There are only three "shelves" of classification of the functions (reactions) of any systems - normal, excessive (hyperreaction) and insufficient (hyporeaction). To classify in this way, you need to use such basic concepts as "system goal" (proper value), "system hierarchy", "system functional unit", "system resources" and "system management". At the same time, system analysis also uses organo-morphological analysis as its component, as the system (function) functions perform various structural elements - system functional units of the body systems, which are various cellular and tissue structures.
The use of system analysis turns empirical medicine into an analytical one. Analyzing various phenomena in the patient's body, it is possible to build a complete trajectory of the pathogenesis of his disease, to reveal the reserves of the organism, to determine the prognosis of his condition for the future and to begin treatment at a time when there are no "breakages" of the body structures. At the same time, it is possible to model different states of the organism under various effects on it, which opens the way for the selection of the most optimal type of treatment. Today, in many cases, if not all, we begin treatment blindly, based only on probabilistic assessments, on medical experience and intuition. Tomorrow, using system analysis and the possibilities of analytical medicine, "replaying" all the options on the computer for the patient, we can accurately "calculate" our actions in relation to the treatment of a particular sick organism. And for this, appropriate functional methods of investigation and appropriate methods of analysis are needed, which can reveal the "driving force" of the disease, while organo-morphological methods of investigation reveal only its result. The future of analytical medicine.
To do this, the doctor should treat the living organism as an ordinary machine, though extremely complex, but nevertheless operates in accordance with the usual laws of thermodynamics. The times of vitalism* have sunk into the past. In this case, the doctor should remember that the body is not a set of organs, but an extremely harmonious and balanced system, where each element does not work by itself, but only (and only!) In full accordance with the work of other elements. No more, no less! The absence of this correspondence is already a pathology.
