It is impossible to develop medicine, not having devised a way of "digesting" a huge mass of information, which becomes more and more avalanche-like every day. This method can only be the theory of the functioning of a living organism, and such theory can only be the theory of systems in application to biology and medicine, because any living organism is a system of one or another degree of complexity. Only such a theory will help us to clearly present and define the concepts of "health" and "illness" themselves, but such a theory is not yet available.
A living organism is not a set of organs, as it follows, for example, from the very nomenclatural classification of diseases. A living organism is a system. It does not hurt the body, but the body. This truth is taught to us by all medical authorities. There is no isolated lesion of any organ, because other organs associated with the affected are always involved in the process. And the disease never begins with morphological changes. It is always preceded first by functional shifts, which then lead to a disruption in morphology. Excessive pressure breaks or tears the relevant structures, a biochemical attack (toxic or bacterio-toxic) "breaks" the biochemical balance of tissues and also leads to various "breakages" in them. Temperature, radiation and other effects can be a normal external effect on the body, but subject to their compliance with the body's ability to resist them. If the body can not oppose anything to these influences, they become abnormal and excessive. Abnormal and excessive effects of the external and internal environment ultimately lead to various "breakages" and defects in the relevant organs and tissues and this manifests itself in the form of various morphological changes (defects) in them. But, morphological changes appear after the functional shifts have occurred. Therefore, organo-morphological methods of research determine pathology too late, although in assessing the clinical situation we need to anticipate, anticipate and predict the condition of the patient's body.
Identify and properly assess the clinical situation can only be considered if the patient's body as a whole. And although it is recognized by almost everyone, we still can not formulate the notion of systemic pathology, unlike the organ one, because there are no corresponding analytical tools. If we recognize that the body is not a set of organs, but a system, then we should use not morphological, but system analysis, but for the present we do not know how to do this. From the university bench we hear this phrase - "system analysis". But what is it and how to use it for the present we do not know, because the system analysis that we are currently offering is not yet an analytical tool.
