in #swmchallenge6 years ago

Hello!

Today we start with gifts. We all love to give and receive attention in the form of gifts. But here's a gift in the form of people would look strange in our time.

For example, the husband comes home and says that I want to witness the devotion to you. And gives his wife a man. Wow! The wife is happy and they live until the three of us. Then his wife wants devotion to her husband to Express in the form of God forbid another man...

Eminonu, Galata bridge. In the distance the biggest mosque of Istanbul Suleymaniye

That's how the Ottoman Empire received a living gift, which gave impetus to the matriarchate. It was like this. To show their devotion to man, the Empire gave the girls. So Ibrahim Pasha gave Sultan Suleyman Ukrainian girl. Thus, he expressed his deepest respect to the head of the Ottoman Empire. In thereafter this girl Ibrahim-Pasha)) sent on the light, there, where who give other gifts...

Sultan Suleiman the magnificent and Roxolana.

The fatal meeting of Sultan Suleiman and the Ukrainian girl.

Roxolana, Hürrem she is, she's Anastasia(Sasha) Lisovskaya abruptly changed the life of Sultan Suleyman, and the Ottoman Empire. Has given birth to him six children, but fate their is deplorable. Even their son Selim II, who took the throne after his father, was a notorious drunkard.

Survival school for Roxolana in the harem of the Ottoman Empire

How survived and won the heart of Roxolana Suleiman the great? In the harem has always been more than 3,000 girls. It was a kind of school, which tried to get a girl. Pupils dreamed to be noticed by the Sultan and to give birth to it the son. Before the advent of Roxolana in the harem very rarely is any concubine could give the Sultan more than one child. Sultans be loved in bed novelty. And in the tradition of the change of concubines, has always followed the mother of the sultans.

Roxolana at the age of 15 slave gets into the harem. Young girl to survive had to take someone else's culture and learn a lot. She was granted the name Hürrem (laughing). By fun the girls were hiding severe pain life. She did everything to not get lost in the wrong side. At the age of 17 her his handkerchief threw the ruler of the Ottoman Empire. That meant he wanted to spend the night with her.

This night becomes their life together for 35 years!

Roxolana, passing through the tortures of hell harem, becomes the first and last legal wife of Suleiman the Great. For the first time the Sultan powers to marry the slave. For her sake, he even dissolved the notorious harem, as part of the cultural traditions of the Ottoman Empire. That's what the Slavic woman who the Turks called a witch did to him.

It is worth noting that the Turkish women look at the Slavs cautiously. After all, many men in Turkey obsession to marry only Slavic.

Love Roxolana and Suleyman is now looking at the shore of the Golden Horn.

They were buried next to Suleymaniye mosque.

Hürrem (1505-1558) died at the age of 52. Suleiman (1494-1566) is greatly grieved for his beloved wife. Eight years lived a Sultan, but was no longer married.

The tombs of Hurrem and Suleiman are located in Istanbul's largest mosque, Suleymaniye mosque. This is the second most important mosque in the country. Designed such a giant famous architect Sinan.

The mosque was built almost 868 years ago. In historical documents it is written that the construction was attended by about 4,000 people.

In the photo you can see two tombs. To the left lie the Hürrem, right - Suleiman. It should be noted that the tomb of architect Sinan is located in the same complex.

Suleymaniye mosque is part of a complex of buildings that are embodied in the life of Mimar Sinan. This is a huge area with a large yard on all sides. The mosque has 11 entrances from different sides. The architect himself said that

The Suleymaniye mosque will stand forever.

And, indeed, the strongest earthquakes of more than 7 points did not destroy the mosque for so many years. In appearance to a Palace resembles the Hagia Sophia. There are even interesting historical similarities.

Hagia Sophia and Suleymaniye mosque were built at the peak of the heyday of two different empires - Byzantium and the Ottoman Empire respectively.

The entrance for tourists is separate from the entrance for Muslims. 5000 believers can visit the mosque.

Decoration of domes in the courtyard of the mosque

Together with the mosque, the huge complex includes educational institutions (madrasas), baths, kitchens, libraries and an Observatory. The whole complex occupies an entire city block. Here in every corner you can feel the history of ancient Istanbul. Narrow streets and old walls of the complex remind that life has been boiling in them for many millennia.

Stunning views of the Golden horn opens from the observation deck of the Suleymaniye mosque. The whole complex is built on the third hill. Therefore, one can clearly see the Asian and European parts of Istanbul.

The address of the mosque: the Suleymaniye Mah., Prof. Sıddık Sami Onar cad. No: 1, 34116 Fatih/Istanbul

Thank you for your attention! Today is another wonderful day! All good sentiments!
