Cathedral Of The Blessed Virgin Mary

This Church is the first monument of architecture of the Vilna Baroque in the territory of Belarus, however before perestroika in 1735 represented one of the most interesting examples of Sarmatian Baroque.

Cathedral of the Nativity of the blessed virgin Mary, Hlybokaye, Belarushram, in terms of representing the originally extended rectangle, has a simplified planning solution, including a three-nave Basilica, a rectangular apse, highlighted by side sacristy, and behind it a number of cells connected by a corridor.

The ornate portal of entrance with carved doors of the XVII century with gilt highlights, the centre of the lower facade layer, while niche-eksedry, completed Konami his side.

Between the lower tier and the following, loosened pilasters and having the sides rounded, the entablature is located, followed by a wide fortified gable. The window, located in the gap of the pediment, decorated with a significantly protruding plastic portal.

Ceiling aisles of the temple, the interior of which has retained its three-dimensional composition from the XVII century, are cylindrical vaults with formwork. Above the pews of the Church is the choir loft.

During the reconstruction in 1735, a single order was made for the facade of the Church and its interior. Thus, the walls and pillars of the temple are characterized by the unfolding of pilasters and wide eaves belts, the decor of which is a rich floral ornament with motifs of stylized acanthus leaves in addition to high-relief images of angel heads.
