Five historical districts of Gyeongju City. Munchwalson District (명 활성)

I already told you about 3 distcricts of Gyeongju:
Namsan District
Wolson District
Hwyongyongsa District

And today I will introduce you a 4th district.


Fortress wall of Myeongwalsoon

The fortress wall and the Mönhwal'son fortress were built in the 5th century, and the total length of the wall is about 6 km, and the height is 259 meters. It was in this fortress that the rebel camp was set up in 647 AD.


Queen Sondock (선덕여 왕)

In 647, the state had a riot against Queen Sondok. The rebels believed that a woman could not be a good ruler.
