The Dance of Life -“The Dance”: Steemit Vision Quest 18
I am late to this quest. So much is going on in my life at the moment, but when I saw the theme I already knew what it was that I needed to share. I love to dance, I love the feeling of freedom that comes with it, I love to dance uninhibited, like nobody is watching. It is like meditation for me, for I could always lose myself and find myself in dance.
So much in nature, in our natural world is undertaking their own dance, they have been since the beginning of time. Birth, life, death and rebirth are all dances we perform. That all living things perform. All of our actions can be seen as a dance, a way to navigate our way in life. Just before the time of our birth Earthside, we are dancing with our mothers, such an elaborate dance. When we are allowed to perform this dance undisturbed, with no interventions or distractions, we are so in sync with one another.
Our bodies move in a way that releases hormones which then trigger the release of hormones in our mothers, this magical, life giving dance is our first introduction into the world. This dance is one that should be honoured and respected, that should be left to the mother and the baby, yet it is the most commonly interrupted dance.
How we are meant to surrender,
and allow ourselves to go into a life giving trance.
Following the rhythms of the earth
listening to our bodies
and their innate wisdom of birth,
There are so many dances that we undertake,
so many that ensure we stay awake.
But are you listening,
is your body aware,
Are you moving to the natural rhythms
do you even care?
Can you hear that , can you hear the beat of the drum, that underlying rhythm, that calls out to you. Our bodies are of the earth, our whole being, needs to listen to the seasons. We are not meant to live a life indoors, we are not meant to wear these things upon our feet. If we do not make contact with that which sustains us, which gives us life, then we will miss out on The Dance. This natural way of living that enables us to live our life fully, that empowers and enriches our lives.
we are more that what we seem
we are meant for movement
we are meant to be wild and free
we hold inside this wisdom
that has grown for centuries
we hold our own beat and rhythm
we are at one with the birds and the trees.
Do you let go?
Do you lose yourself, in music, in nature, in song.
Or does the thought of losing yourself scare you, does it hold you back.
What about this dance within ourselves, this dance that unites the energies that make us who we are. We are made up of both masculine and feminine energies, but are we dancing in sync. Are we more in touch with one than the other, we need the balance between the two in order to be complete, in order to be whole.
the dance that can take us to extremes,
that can lead and take charge
or that can really nurture and create dreams.
Are you comfortable with who you are?
Or are you fighting within yourself to find your way,
the need to conform,
is it controlling your day.
What would happen if you let it all go,
if you walked away,
to find and follow your own flow.
We are so much more that what we seem.
We are the creators and the dancers of our own dreams.
We are the creators and dancers of that which makes us real.

thank you for this beautiful post. I love to dance physically but honestly I have not done it in a long while now, but im definitely dancing inside, letting my energies flow as they come and go.
