Hi! Thank you :)
Haha! Fantastic wave sir rossfletcher! man, incredible photo. How far is that from where you are?
Thank you! It's about 45 minutes drive to an hour or more depending on the traffic. Sometimes it's close to impossible to get here if you don't live there. It's down the end of a long peninsula that when everyone decides to go to the beach is pretty hectic.
That sounds like a nightmare! lol...to me at least. I know people love to go where the action is though!
Major holidays and giant swells are the times to avoid it. I go before the sun comes up and it's no problem then. :)
Howdy sir rossfletcher! But when you were a young surfer you went all the time right?
Yes, up until a few years ago. I never surfed here though. This place is best for body boarding and body surfing. It's really like a big gladiator pit where everyone shows how brave they are by catching a wave and then getting smashed. There are much more "rideable" waves that i went to to actually surf and not get pounded into the sand for some imaginary glory. It does get some good surfing waves on the very biggest of swells. It's exciting no doubt but there's much more to surfing than that. it's a little like the difference between bull riding in a rodeo vs. a nice ride on your favorite horse with friends in some beautiful countryside. I should have rode it at least once back in my early 20's! Then i could i say i got on the bull and lived!
ahh..very interesting sir rossfletcher and that's a great illustration!
Another fantastic wave! I love the upside down guy. And the ones who are just dark blobs in the water.
