I also hate it, when I go to a location and there are already people there, although I always try to be as early as possible.
Sometimes I have even left a place without a photo, when I had no chance to photograph alone.
I know, what you mean - a waterfall in the woods or on a mountain it is quite different from a well visited beach. Beach photos without any people might also be boring, but sometimes not, just as this photo shows quite nice 🙂

I can't remember if i did it on purpose. Usually i try to work them in as part of the shot. It would be too frustrating not to. :)
