First time on 31st January Blue moon has been witnessed along with Lunar Eclipse and this event just happened when moon was closest to Earth. It is an extremely rare event that took on a full moon night. Lunar Eclipse is the event when Sun, Earth and moon come in a single line. Then part of the or whole moon gets covered by the sun and we can see eclipse on the moon.

Scientists and sky gazers all around the world have witnessed this extraordinary triple lunar occurrence in western hemisphere for the first time. It is so close to earth that the moon appears red as sunlight falls through the earth’s atmosphere bounces on it. But the name is Blue Moon. The Super Blue Moon is visible only for 1 hour and few minutes in your region. But it will cycle through many faces as it passes and back out of perfect lunar eclipse alignment in a total of 5 hours time frame. This is an extraordinary cosmic event that has occurred in 150 years. It was witnessed in Australia, Asia and different parts of Russia. NASA predicted that you can best view this celestial union phenomenon from California and western Canada. Australia and Pacific Ocean are also well placed to see major portions of it. It is followed by King Tides that rise very high in the coastal regions. People have set their alarms in western region like North America to witness this event before dawn on Wednesday.
If you missed seeing it live in your region then you may wait for another Lunar Eclipse in July this year but it will be visible in central Africa and central Asia.
