RE: DEK Photography: The Sunset Gazer
I'd hoped that I could find a gif of the fat, stupid brother in Yojimbo trying to do math... But sadly nobody had made that obvious Gif... I better think this over before i commit myself...
Haha! Hey! Another movie to watch, thank you :)
You should! A real classic, and I know of no other movie that has been copied so many times. A fistful of dollars and Last man standing are the first I think of, but I have seen many more.
Kurosawa is a genius. Seven Samurai is a favorite of mine, a true philosophic masterpiece about the mindset of the common folk. Might explain why Japanese feel at home in Bulgaria - most people have the same mentality of "help me, thanks and fuck you".
:) He was a genius indeed, but Yojimbo is not as big a film as Seven Samurai, but it is quite enjoyable. Kurosawa took the plot from the harboiled gangster novel Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammet and moved it to the Meiji period (an American revolver plays a role... but the period does not play a big role).
But it is the mother of all spaghetti-westerns.
