A summer COVID surge is in full swing right now.

KP.3.1.1 is 36.8% of new cases according to the CDC. It is one of the so-called FLiRT variants.

CNN is reporting that the FDA may sign off on the new updated COVID vaccines as soon as this week. Moderna and Pfizer are ready to ship them out as soon as they get the greenlight. Novavax will likely be ready by the end of this month.

The new vaccines are targeting KP.2 (JN.1 in the case of Novavax). KP.3.1.1 and the other FLiRT variants are closely related to JN.1 and KP.2.

So get ready to roll up your sleeves. Coronavirus activity is high.
