Suesa's Science Challenge 2 - Does being thrown into the water during an explosion save your life?
Hello I wanted to make my entry in this contest with a myth that many have believed for many years, by the action movies in which it is proposed that if you throw an explosive and you throw yourself into a lake and the explosive detonates in the life .
I noticed on occasion that some fishermen sometimes detonated explosive charges in some lake and the fish after a few seconds floated floating to the surface, which originated in me the comparison between what you saw in the movies and that fact.
I began to investigate a little to see what would happen to a human being in such circumstances I realized that when a high-caliber projectile was launched into the water would be harmless to a few meters, but, what happened to the explosives ?.
In the case of explosives they produce a shockwave that in the air compresses and dissipates quite easily but in the water it happened totally the opposite. The shock wave in the water does not compress and this would help everything that has less density than this and the human being to be composed of 70% of water and containing in our bodies but not only in the lungs but also in intestines What would happen?
The water not being understandable and being us and being 70% conformed of water this would happen through us but as we have air in our lungs to want to cross these the shock wave would generate much movement within which would cause permanent damages.
It also raises many questions in me as the damage to the ecosystem caused by missile or bomb tests in the oceans, where lives and ecosystems can disappear through this kind of evidence, should be a reflection of the international community.

Cool but your English could use some work! I think what we see in the movies is explosives exploding above water so in that way I think jumping under water would actually save you. What do you think?
