You made some very valid points

Our happiness depends on the way we react to what happens to us.

It all boils down to choice. Whether we care to admit it, there are always options for us to choose from.

Mindfulness, however, isn't as easy, it takes conscious effort and self will to get rid of nagging thoughts and distractions.

Yes it is a choice because all choices have consequences.

You are right mindfulness takes practice and discipline but can be achieved!!!
