Squeezing one of the tallest buildings in the world with an ultrawide lens.
Surprisingly I was able to squeeze one of the tallest buildings in the world (One World Trade Center) from across the street with my ultrawide lens! This just goes to show how ultra wide it really is!

Amazing looking building, but I don't think they could have built anything that could compare to the Twin Towers. I got to see them in 1996. We were supposed to went to their observing balcony but the year or two before was when the garage area had got bombed so they had closed off tourism areas. We wound up going to the Empire State Building instead. We did get a close up view of the towers though when we went down to Battery Park I believe it was to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Only time I've been to NYC and would love to go back but just never have had the opportunity again.
Well a least you went once in your life which is more than many people can say.
A lot has changed since 96! Especially Times Square.
Oh I'm sure it has. My high school used to do a "government trip" each year. It was just a good excuse for some of the teachers to take the kids to Washington DC and NYC but I was fine with that. I went my freshman year of high school. I said 1996 earlier...it was actually 1997. I was 16 years old. Anyways, we went to DC and toured some of the major places then went to NYC and toured. We were gone for a week and I loved it. That was before cell phones were big here in TN so we had lots of change and used pay phones in the hotel lobby each night to call home. There was no such thing as sending mama a text or a Snapchat. LOL. That seems like a whole lifetime ago. The best part of the trip was going to see Annie at a theater off of Broadway and it had Nell Carter in it. I loved her from the Gimme A Break TV Show and she was one of the main characters and sang and danced. She made the show, more than Annie I thought, but that was amazing getting to see the 1st string stars. Didn't mean to write a book. Anyways lol.
"Government trip"! LOL. But traveling with school kids in another country is a humongous responsibility. My wife went to Thailand and Venezuela and she barely slept as she was on call 24 hours.
DC and NYC sounds like an amazing trip! That's perhaps the most walking necessary trip I've ever heard of. There's a lot of ground to cover in DC. At least in NYC there is more transportation.
No worries about the long comment. I appreciate you taking the time as and your support. It's what makes Steemit fun!
DC we did a lot of walking around the mall at the monuments and the Wall. NYC we didn't do much walking at all. We had a private chartered motor coach and they'd pull up to where we were going and let us off. Most unusual moment I can remember is leaving NBC Studios but instead of going outside we went underground. There was a McDonalds and all these other shops all under the ground. I remember thinking how crazy it was that there was literally a city under a city. Being from Grundy County, Tennessee where it's all woods, farms, fields, etc. it amazed me at the "City Life". When I was young I thought one day I'd move there but now that I've got older I wouldn't trade these fields and farms for it. I would like to go back and visit though. I'm sure the experience would be much different now that I'm an adult.
Nice. The reflection of the sky on those bad boys makes them almost look translucent.
I'm actually working on a tutorial on circular polarizer filters and ultrawide lenses. Here's the shot w/o the cp filter.
It's such a grand shot! And I like how you show the surrounding as well.
