ONE STRANGE LION
I found something else that was both wild and strange..
Many of us are familiar with that pesky nuisance weed called Dandelion. Others of us see the Dandelion as a wonderful and beneficial plant whose flower, leaves, and roots can be used. Some people try to eliminate every Dandelion from their yard with tools and chemicals and others make wine, coffee substitutes, and tasty salads or dishes from the same plants.
While @papa-pepper was working, he saw a most peculiar sight.
At first, I thought that someone had braided a bunch of Dandelion flowers together. In total, there were fourteen individual flower heads on top. Underneath though, was a giant stem.
This was not what I was expecting. I expected many stems to be woven together underneath rather than one giant stem beneath.
I’m not sure what caused this, or how so many flowers wound up on top of one giant stem, but here it is. Has anyone ever seen a Dandelion like this before? I hadn’t.

Coffee substitutes from dandelions?
Must read up on that!
Interesting post, thanks for sharing :)
Roasted dandelion roots I believe. Still have to try it.
Interesting, and new to me.
Me too!
I'd seen fat stems before, but never with so many heads.
@papa-pepper What an unusually fused dandelion.
Very unusual. Thanks @lil4a!
I've got nothing, so here's a music link in lieu of a substantive reply:
Lol, thanks man!
Hi @papa-pepper - Could be this kind of mutation - a fasciated Dandelion - although yours does seem a bit over the top!
Image source and write up here
Thanks, that looks like what it was, just a little smaller. Thanks, @maninayton!
A pleasure as always @papa-pepper.
Incredible, simply incredible
Dandelions are grouped to enslave humanity!
It is not just a "dent de lion", but a full "mâchoire de lion" (jaw of lion).
Lol, well said @vcelier!
Coincidentally, you and @meesterboom with dandelions which is something just learned today.
Interesting!
Yes, it is .
