Elephant in the Room - Poetry - Storycube Entry
I can see everything except
the elephant in the room.
The space inside my head
Housing joy, fear and gloom.
But his gray trunk swings
Sways and settles
Into every shaded space.
Insidious, unspoken,
dilatory grace.
Unpoken questions nestle
in corners, beds, and closets
Housing secrets better left in boxes, in attics,
and pipes without faucets
Building steam, intensity of dreams, this pachyderm lumbers, issuing silently- busting out the seams.
Discovery blinds with lightening cruel intensity,
Exposing skeletons in basements
buried in miles and miles of dark obscurity.
He's white or black and gray,
Filling doors and windows blocking light and day.
Push against the wall of ignorant bliss,
You know you're better off
Exposing snakes nesting under hearts like this.
Expose the elephant in the room, unlock his chains harboring the doom.
Stars will fill up all his dusty places
Vanquish hell's angel's
Lurking faces.
Blow the truth
A poison dart of life
And end the torment with the light.

this is spot on. tho i think people are starting to talk about the elephant after it farted.
I like this, I almost always address the elephant, unless I feel someone else is worthy :p
