Why did it feel great to put my 2 week notice!!! I QUIT

Today was a pretty wild day.

I put in my 2- week notice at my work.

Lately, my boss has been drinking a lot like every day. It is amazing how people change with alcohol, I have been there and I'm super proud of saying I'm not quite there anymore.

The atmosphere has changed some lately and I was not comfortable with it. Last night was the drop that spilled the glass.

His alcohol level went through the roof! Insane he even went crazy on a customer and then after drinking the whole day he decided to drive back home, how irresponsible, what if someone gets hurt, even himself he has 3 beautiful daughters and a lovely wife who can be a little crazy but still. I really do not support that and decided to finally leave that place for good.

The awesome think about doing this is the talk I had with my employer trying to open his eyes and I think if me getting out of that bussines is one of the reasons why he try to control his drinking it totally worth it.

After having a talk with him and pointing out how this has been affecting the business lately and the whole crew and how it will continue affecting it. He admitted he did wrong and apologize.

Saying that he will commit to me to change and lower his drinking to what I responded he should change because of himself, because of all the people who he has been affecting because of this drinking problem.

I have the experience that a drunken parent is not a good one.

He admitted trying and how difficult it is but he seems decided to change.

Imagine if he actually changes his life and his future. It feels amazing to know that I could have changed a life by putting my 2 weeks notice in.

There was a moment of resistance when he tried to have a little more aggressive uptake on it but it ended right away. I think to lose an employee after a rough night and lots of more beers in the morning are not easy to digest.

I think everyone has the power to change and I hope this was an eye opening experience as it was for me. I'm just so glad he saw what I was seeing thanks to my words.
