The Adventures of Mister Mox - Part 38
Mox enjoyed for a moment the feeling of cold wine being poured over his wound, but the alcohol soon started to sting.
The Butcher was looking with a big smile at Mox’s face that was twitching from pain. Taking another gulp of wine, the Butcher started the introductions very courteously:
“I’m glad to meet you mister Mox” he took a big apron and placed in on himself. “As I was saying, I’m the Butcher, the master of ceremonies in this room. The little fella that entertained you a while ago is Big Wolf and the fella from here is Big Fox” Butcher pointed toward the cupbearer minion. “Quite ironic isn’t it? The Black Fox gang is handled by Big Fox on the Butcher’s table”
An evil laugh filled in the torture room.
Big Wolf took another pot of ointments and started to rub it out on Mox’s skin. This time Mox didn’t feel any pain, put a nice cool feeling and a small sting. But he knew that this was a healing ointment, not one that would provoke him harm. His tortionnaires didn’t want him to die too fast. They wanted to inflict as much damage as they can.
The Butcher seemed to read Mox’s thoughts, because he soon started to explain the principles of torture.
“My dear mister Mox, torture is an art,” he started to explain, while taking some big spiked from the tool table nearby. “Most of the uneducated animals out there think torture is about inflicting physical pain. But torture is not about that. It’s about inflicting mental pain. The body is just as vessel, you need to know how to torture the mind and the soul.”
While he said all that, Butcher approached Mox and started to stab him with the spikes he took earlier. One by one, the spikes entered in his arms, legs and various parts of his body. Mox looked now like a porcupine, with 9 small spikes rising from his body. Big Fox wiped the traces of blood around the spikes, moving the rug carefully to not touch the spikes.
“You see these spikes,” Butcher continued his speech. “They don’t hurt you too much. The lashes from earlier gave you more pain. You look surprised. I know. ha, ha, ha” he laughed at the stupefied look on Mox’s face. “You were waiting for pain, and you were prepared mentally for it. But it never came. Ha, ha, ha.”
Suddenly, Butcher’s hand moved and twisted just a little bit a spike from Mox’s leg.
A loud scream of agony left Mox mouth. A scream so loud, that the unconscious Tegway tied up on the wall opened his eyes.
With fear in his eyes, Tegway looked around the room and saw the image.
“Mox, Mox!” Tegway called, but the little strength that he had couldn’t make his voice travel to Mox.
But the keen eye of Butcher saw that Tegway woke up. He left the spike and toward him. When Buther hand withdrawn from the spike, the screaming stopped. The pain stopped for Mox as well.
Panting, Mox tried to get his breath back. Thousands of thoughts filled in his mind now. He knew that he needed all his mental toughness to resist in this room. And he tried at the same time to find some kind of plan of leaving this place.
“Another kind of torture, my dear mister Mox, is not hurting the man in cause, but the ones he cares for. In your case, this man” the Butcher continued his lessons on torture, giving friendly slaps on Tegway face.
He made a sign to Big Wolf, who got a big knife and started to carve in Tegway's body. Again, the screams filled in the room.
Butcher took a sit in his chair, drinking from his cup of wine, smiling and looking at the scene, like listening to a great concert.
And so, 3 days have passed.

This is the last chapter for this week. It was a good week. Little by little we are approaching the end of the first volume and I'm really excited for this. I hope you'll enjoy what I've prepared for next week.
