Hobo Confessions #4: Thou shalt pack better food next time
I haven't shown the front of the journal, I'll do that now. Thanks again, Dino.
January 27th -
58 degrees/wind 5-7 mph
Chilly morning. Slept like a rock, only one in Florida. Morning hike, found 5 dogs, and people. Pretty flower swing along trail. Portapotty not so bad, guy cleaned it. I'm allergic to something here. Little sick today. Airplane/new environment? Pond water? Eternal cheese and crackers? No matter. Decided I would rather be sick on adventure than healthy in Ohio. Sore throat, little sleepy, possible 1 degree fever. I will take today and sleep it off. Sean is here, he is a naturalist. From Lafayette. He has offered me campfire and dinner. Thank you Sean.
I was really fixating on these rocks.
I spent most of this day wondering if my camping plans were all a big mistake. 58 degrees isn't bad but, with high humidity, it chills to your bones. I stayed in my tent, sleeping, searching for vitamin C in something I had brought. I felt like I could sleep forever, and I was already onto my second snot-rag-bandanna.
I learned a lot about nutrients and food supply in the woods. Specifically that cheese, crackers, trail mix, and salami will not fight allergies or potential sinus infections. So I started eating day-quil. Luckily, I met Sean, and he saved my life.
Sean was taking a small escape into the woods from his enraged wife and daughter-in-law. He was a serious man with a troubled drug past and deep eyes. He liked to give lots of advice, he considered himself a teacher. I guess the wife wasn't appreciating one of his lessons. He turned out to be my forest brother, because no one else in Florida was stupid enough to go camping right now outside of necessity or homelessness, and the first night he made for us a fat ass pot of stew. Then we sat next to the fire and so began my first naturalist lesson. More nature tomorrow, sleep for now.

I'm not sure if I'm half excited or terrified that this is probably going to be me in the near future. I'll keep reading and make up my mind.
Ha! Excellent. It is life friend, go out and enjoy good and bad. Share it with your adventurer friends if you're enjoying. I invite questions too.
