RE: The Lost Cities of Central And South America - City of The Caesars (La Ciudad De Los Césares)

in #story6 years ago

Actually it´s temperate rainforest, much thicker than tropical rainforest. Further the geography in the region is very dynamic. During the last years two towns literally disappeared from the map. Chaitén was buried under the ashes of a volcano ten years ago. And last month Villa Santa Lucia was buried under a glacier which got loose of a mountain. Have I mentioned that most mountains in the region are not even named yet? By the way the glacier on the picture is not the Cordillera Paine, but the Hanging Glacier in the Queulat National Park. The Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa is a great place to stay if you want to visit this area. The Cordillera Paine mentioned beyond the picture is located about 900 km further south and much more accessible than the Queulat National Park.

That's very interesting. I'm glad that you have found my post over a year later :-)
