Blockchain Memory Project is an initiative to plug in childhood memories, good times and bad times, favourites fantasies and reality from the past unto the Blockchain. It's a fantastic endeavour and if you are yet to give it a go, i urge you to read Blockchain Memory Project - Journal Entry (8) - Taking Chances from the brain behind this idea @ericvancewalton, read the rules and enjoy.

5TH JOURNAL

Childhood was fun, even though it was a sad lonely one deprived of the real love of parents, father and mother. But my mom tried her very best as a widow to give the best to her boys even if it requires her not chaning her wardrope.

From my earlier journal entries, i have shared my childhood with my brothers, my high school(♧part of it), and the relocation after i lost my dad. So, after few session in day school, momma decided to ship her boys to boarding house, like i have said before; it was a decision she wished she could reverse.

In My 2nd term at Junior High, something terrible happened to me which changed alot of things about me as a grown up.

Soccer or football is a popular sport in my country, so as a kid of you don't know how to play soccer you are not considered a real lad- a cool dude. So while growing up, you must have mastered so many skills and maybe if you get lucky picked up by a Football Agent that hook you up with a professional Football Club in Europe or South America.

I was good at Football, so are my brothers and my cousins. Defense or defensive midfield is my position, but on five-aside i play as a forward, a striker.

Goals are easy for me to score, so till date i still can not fathom how i could play defensive roles well in a standard football match. I have scored up to nine goals in a 5-aside football match before, and a as a defender i had saved and intercepted important ball that could have led to our defeat as a team(my brothers and cousins).

Evil Night

Some months before my Junior High Certificate Exam into Senior High School, one ill evening before 7pm. I had wandered off school premises into a nearby orchard to get some fruits with my friends, so coming back into the school takes you through our football pitch. Seeing some of my mates playing, i decided to join in and score some few goals then head back to the dormitary which is a bit remote to the football pitch.

My immediate brother was in Senior High, just a year left for him to graduate from high school. I remembered him signalling to me that terrible night to head back to the hostel because it's getting dark, but i was adamant and i wanted to score at least a goal before leaving the pitch.

Hard luck i called it, after just few minutes when my brother asked me to go back to the dormitory, i was kicked by a roudy classmate of mine and fell on the pitch. I got up and wanted to resume playing when one of my team mate screamed my name "Philips, look at your leg!"

Lo and behold, my right foot had been kicked backward and upon seeing it, i passed out.

By the time i woke up, i was in a local clinic and i could hear muffled sound of my team mates and opponents sobbing at the sight of my leg, my right foot. It was dark now, the doctor in attendance had declared my injury a compound fracture with two dislocations, that was why my leg turned backward!

Sadly, the local clinic could not do anything and wanted to transfer me to a much bigger facility where my leg could be treated. The nurses where kind enough, they sprained my leg with splinters and i had to wait the longest night of my life to wait for daybreak to be transferred to a bigger facility where my fractured leg could be treated.

All through the night, i was in excruciating pain, in tears and my fractured leg seems to be ringing of severe pain, that travels from my leg to my spine and to every part of my body. At last, day break came, and i was taken home where i could get better treatment.

This happened in the year 2000, and i was on cast for 5 months which made me not miss a single event of the Sydney Olympics.

When my leg healed, i suffered trauma and never went back to active football till date, this made me develop interest body building and other sports like Volleyball, Boxing, Kickboxing. Since then, i became bulky and these i converted into Muscles and more muscles till date.

@oluwoleolaide, fracture too is very painful . I can imagine you been confined to bed then so that te bones will align and heal faster.
Nurses are great they put themselves in the position of the patient to see that, patients come back to their normal state of health

Well, some of those Nurses are mean as hell.

Your childhood memories is amazing....

I like what you say very positive.success will not work without sacrifice. more confident than others.I love having friends like you can share experiences. Thanks my friend.

Thanks for reading.

I have heard of this before; the fx and the foot turning backward.
I could not bear the sight of my foot backward and would for sure pass out.
We never forget something so painful but I like how you took the event and built up your muscles even stronger. :)

Hmmm, I'm really scared reading this. But, I've got to move on, all I could learn from this is to be positive always. We always fail to pass, although for the wise. When some fail, they get depressed and never move on. But you proved yourself to be a fittest to this cruel world. I'm happy for you sir

Excellent post sir. And, have you seen my full introduction? Please check my blog, you will know more about me there.
