The Alligator River: Story About Ethics & Morals

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sally who was in love with a man name Drogo. Sally and Drogo lived on the opposite shores of a river full of dangerous alligators. They were seeing each other until the bridge had been washed away by a heavy flood.

The only way to cross the river after that was by a boat owned by Captain Hook. Thus, Sally asked Captain Hook to take her across to be with Drogo. He said that he would be glad to help if she accepts to spend a night with him before that.

Shocked, she refused and went to her brother Gregory to explain her trouble and ask him to help her convince Captain Hook to let go of his conditions. However, her brother Gregory did not want to be involved in the situation at all.

Sally felt that her only alternative was to accept Captain Hook’s terms. After spending a night with her, Captain Hook fulfilled his promise and delivered her into the arms of Drogo.

When Sally told Drogo what she had to do in order to cross the river, Drogo cast her aside with despise, refusing to see her ever again.

Rejected and desperate, Sally confessed to Ivan what had happened to her. Ivan, feeling compassion for Sally, sought out Drogo and beat him brutally.

Sally was happy to see Drogo getting his due. As the sun sets on the horizon, villagers could hear Sally’s laughter at Drogo’s pain.
