MEDIEVAL FUTURE (An Original Steemit Novel, part 2)

in #story9 years ago

(Point of view: TR4V-LR) I am what they call the TR4V-LR. I have only one task: To eliminate as many people in each kingdom as possible without altering the timeline so that I am never created. I was created in a timeline in which there was over-population in the countries that stemmed from the kingdoms that I am currently providing advanced weaponry to. All current methods of reducing population, such as by bomb, were considered impossible due to their ethical consequences. However, by this method, we can reduce the population in such a way that some of the people would never even have been born. The scientists that created me considered this to be the most ethical approach. However, there is a point in which I may never be invented if too many people are killed during the medieval era. I believe that this iteration, iteration 5, is my last hope, for if too many people get killed now, I will never have been invented. Paradoxes, paradoxes, what an interesting concept. I only hope that I don't fall victim to one.

It appeared, however, that the first battle of this war went fairly well. One of the kingdoms used their special dragon too early, but it did not appear to change the tide of the war according to my scriptures. These scriptures are the only way that I know that the timeline is kept safe, and that too many people did not die. They change whenever I do any kind of action, as they always have written on them the final result of any past events. I still have the empty scriptures in my arsenal, ones that I will give to each kingdom to document the war as it progresses. I believe it is time to give the scriptures, and perhaps another advanced weapon or two.

I teleported to the first kingdom's courtyard, the one who recently had one of their soldiers land in a patch of the forest of Almartam. I explained the fact that all events needed to be recorded in the scriptures, or else I would seize all of my advanced weaponry. Due to the iterations that I have done and the scientists that were never born, teleporter technology is now not advanced enough to teleport all weapons back, so I could not show that I mean the truth. They appear to have believed me, as I saw the handwriting in the final scriptures change just slightly. I felt like rewarding them for the effortlessness of my explanation, and gave them a limited quantity of fuel cell batteries that the solar lasers mounted on their dragons could use in the case of a rainstorm. However, as I did that, I noticed a large change in my scriptures. It appears that the other kingdom is bound to get their hands on the fuel cell technology and use it to turn the tide of the war in their favor. However, there was now nothing I could do, as taking away technology would be viewed unfavorable on my part, and I had no way to initiate a full technology recall.

I teleported to the other kingdom, and gave the speech along with an empty scripture that they had to fill out. They did not believe me at first, and required a small amount of convincing. For this, I did not give them any fuel cells, but also because I knew that they were bound to get them from the other kingdom later on. However, my scriptures changed even more now because of this action. They were bound to win the war before the countries could be formed to end it. I knew what I had to do. I teleported to the stranded man in the forest of Almartam with his injured dragon of Dar'Goth. I gave the dragon a special recovery serum that would help him recover within a few days. I gave the man a very experimental, at least for this iteration, kind of energy shield and energy sword. The shield could be described as star, but with each edge appearing to be the edge of the maple leaf. The sword was something different altogether: It was a bristling blue lightning bolt that invoked fear to all opponents who saw it. His only weakness was the lightning strike from a storm, as that would disable his weaponry for a short period of time, that not even I knew. I quickly teleported back, but left a small observation camera to see how this played out.

I tried to rest, but then a rainstorm started rolling in. The following things happened in a flash: I saw an arrow land next to the stranded man, lightning struck his sword and shield, and then lightning struck my observation camera. I could not do anything, as the ionization of the air was messing up my teleporter. What would happen next, I could only assume, is that the stranded man would be attacked by the opposing kingdom, and have no energy weapons or shielding to protect himself with until they recharge. This man must survive and wreak havoc, for if he dies, the scripture says that the opposing kingdom will win the war. This would be absolutely devastating to the timeline, and I may never even be invented in the first place.
