Back in the Nevada Desert, the box shot out of the hole from the in between then Rephael closed the hole. Spawn poured from the box and the soldiers nearest it were ripped to pieces. But shortly, the army reacted and battle was joined.

The fighting was ferocious. The number of spawn that came forth was uncountable. Quickly the forces were outnumbered by the spawn. Heavy bombardment of the box began with missile strikes but the spawn kept emerging.

Inside, twenty spawn were left and five soldiers, including Ricks and Rephael. “I am out!” Ricks yelled and tried to grab a weapon from the carcass of one of the fallen soldiers but two spawn grabbed him before he could make it. He was torn to shreds.

Down to only four soldiers, four more spawn went down including the two on Ricks.

Cyrus and Holk stepped in. They saw what was happening and reacted fast. Shortly, spawn began to fall, shot in the back as fast as they could reload. Mindy and Myra stepped in to the sides of their husbands,

“Take our revolvers out of the holsters.” Cyrus said as the remaining spawn split, one group attacking the soldiers the rest turning toward Mindy, Myra, Holk, and Cyrus.

Mindy and Myra grabbed the pistols and began to shoot along with their husbands. Within a minute, all the spawn were down and they were dead.

Asmodeus stuck his clawed hand through a large hole in the nets. Rephael slapped a binder with a chain on the wrist. “Just keep shooting him while we pull him out until we can get him fully chained.”

“We can’t drag the nets with so few anyways, they are too heavy.” One soldier said as he pulled Asmodeus out while he shot him with a pistol. Rephael held a piece to Asmodeus while he pulled.

Asmodeus was weak and Cyrus and Holk came to help. They pulled his other arm out and bound it. They bound his neck. Then they bound his ankles. Just to be safe, they had a spare net and put it on Asmodeus.

“Each one of you pick up one of those pieces and hold them,” Rephael said to his parents, Holk and Myra.

Each did so and then they all grabbed hold of the net and dragged Asmodeus across the ground. He no longer struggled. He no longer said anything.

“Where are we going son,” Cyrus asked?

“We are taking him to his world and throwing him back in and in order to do that, for his world to open, Eon will have to be in here, so Mom you will have to go and get him but he has to be taken out as soon as we throw Asmodeus in or they could all escape.”
“How much further is it?” Mindy asked.

“Not more than a couple of hundred yards that way,” Rephael answered and gave a direction with his chin. “Oh, I don’t know why you stepped in when you did, I was supposed to come and get you but it is good because otherwise I think the four of us would be dead and Asmodeus escaped.

“We have Eon in his crib on the other side of the fence, ready and we guess he could hear what was going on because he kept saying, ‘bang, bang Momma.’”

“He kept pointing at the spot and looked afraid,” Cyrus answered.

“We are coming to the gateway now and you’ll be able to see what the world of the jinn looks like.” Rephael said.

“It looks like hell,” Mindy said of what she saw through the portal.

“We need Eon in here with me in order for this to open.” Rephael said, “Can you find your way back, Momma?”

“Yes, I think so. It is that way,” Mindy pointed.

“Yes, now all you will have to do is bring Eon in and stay there until we throw in Asmodeus. As soon as you hear a gunshot, step out. Then it will close.” Rephael said to Mindy. And then to the other three, “You don’t have to be here when it opens. The jinn will attack and try to burst out.”

“I’ll stay,” Cyrus said.

“Me too,” Holk said, “But Myra, you can have this pistol and I want you next to Mindy in case she needs help. Cyrus gave Mindy the pistol back and nodded.

“Okay,” Myra said as she took the pistol. As they walked away, Rephael said,

“Their attack will be fierce but I held this hole with one piece held before me. It absorbed all their magic or whatever it is they do.”

“Be ready, Mindy and Myra are almost there.” Cyrus said.

“The three of us should be able to throw him,” Rephael said to two of the other captains,” The rest of you hold those pieces and shoot at them with the piece ammo. Prepare for a vicious assault of blasts.”

The two captains handed their pistols to Cyrus and Holk,”Just point and shoot.”

“Ready!” Rephael yelled.

“Ready!” Everyone else yelled.

Mindy must have stepped in with Myra and Eon because the gateway opened.

“CHARGE THE GATE!” Asmodeus boomed as loud as cannon.

“Now,” Rephael yelled! Asmodeus began to grow as explosions rocked the gateway. They pulled Asmodeus in to the gateway to the middle of his chest.

“He is too heavy!” One of the captains yelled above the explosions his voice sounded like a tiny whisper.

Cyrus, Holk, and the other captain shot into the gateway and held their pieces up. “Grab hold and push!” Cyrus yelled. The three moved fast and added to the force and Asmodeus began to slide the rest of the way in.

“Do you hear gunshots?” Mindy asked Myra.

“Yes! And explosions too.”

“Step out with me and Eon.” Mindy said and she, Myra, and Eon stepped back into 1856.

The gateway closed across Asmodeus’ thighs just as a two jinn tried to force their way through. Asmodeus and the jinn used their magical force to hold the gate open and more stepped in, “Touch them with the pieces,” Rephael said. When they were touched the gateway slammed shut. The arms of the two jinn and the legs of Asmodeus at the knees lay lifeless in the world in between.

Jinn pounded at the gateway but it was closed. They were sealed in place. The amputated limbs began to steam, then smoke, and then they caught fire. Soon there was not a trace of them, not even ash.

“Anybody hurt?” Rephael asked.

“Not from that,” The others responded.

“I don’t think my chest was ready for that,” Rephael fell over face down and unconscious.
