ALPHA-TWO CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Subject: KS-019
Codename: “New Haven”
Description: KS-019 is a small planetoid discovered in the Kappa-Sigma Prime system, approximately 591.4 lightyears from Earth. It is the first planetary body within adequate FTL travel distance discovered within a star’s Goldilocks Zone, codenamed New Haven. Preliminary readings have revealed that New Haven has approximately 0.9x the gravitation of Earth and a rotational period of 1.4 days, making it an ideal candidate for colonization. However, further testing has suggested that New Haven lacks a nickel-iron core, and thus possesses no magnetosphere, leaving it unprotected against solar wind and cosmic radiation. Nevertheless, all recent readings suggest the presence of what appears to be water and a Nitrogen-Oxygen atmosphere, and so additional research has been ordered. ALL ADDITIONAL RESEARCH HAS BEEN RESCINDED
Suitability for Colonization: Pending further research UNSUITABLE
