Just Another Day [Original Story]
"Come here, boy!"
He knew all too well what to do. It was becoming more and more regular that his father would act like this when returning from the town. Sometimes he would come home drop on a couch and fell asleep immediately. In those rare cases, he felt relieved as he knew he'd avoid the beating.
"Where are you?"
Aaron slipped through the rear door leaving them wide open. As fast as his little legs allowed him he started running. The mistake he made was apparent to him when he saw how the leaves are moving in trees.
Bam! The wind blew hard and slammed the door.
He didn't have much time before his father would rush through that door and start catching on him. The gravel beneath his little feet was starting to cut them. He had only one pair of shoes. Even tho he used to walk bare feet regularly his skin was not thick enough and he would still get cut under the sharp rocks.
"I see you!" His fathers' angry voice followed him across the valley.
The soft grass beneath his feat encouraged Aaron to run faster. He jumped the fence and run in the direction of the cornfield. It was far away but the only place where he could hide. Such a flat land was excellent for farming but was almost impossible to hide anywhere.
"Stop running!"
Quick glimpse back gave Aaron reassuring look that he might not catch him. His father was doing a zik-zag pattern. The effects of alcohol were visible on him.
"Listen to me boy!"
His heart was beating fast and his breathing was getting deeper and deeper. It was incredible how much advantage his father made in this short amount of time. He was already past the fence and catching up with him.
Aaron was just about to enter his asylum in the field when his father's hand grabbed his collar.
"What did I say you, boy?" He started shaking him like a bag of potatoes.
He raised left hand high in the air while grabbing Aaron tight with the other. With all the power he could gather he hit him in the head. High pitch sound filled Aarons' ears and pulsating pain the side of his head.
"uowii ssa" He did not even understand what his father was saying when he got hit the second time. This time it all went black.
