Homestead inferno
My perspective of a wild homestead inferno. An epic journey into the heart of the flame. Staring into the eyes of the fire. Gazing into the future of the homestead....
It started with a simple spark, placed perfectly on a ready and waiting load of immeasureable flamability. The initial spark struggles as it tries to acclimate to the new surroundings. Being so far from where it came from the lonely feeling slowly faded. The surroundings grew more familiar as the light spread exposing the potential. The hunger of the spark began to become apparent as it gently and quietly consumed its closest surroundings.
The heat began to increase causing fear, panic and excitement. The flames rose higher. As material was devoured , fire dripped like lava, causing an on slought of a hateful rain like display. It pressed on without any sign of slowing. There didn't seem to be any place this monster couldn't find something to eat. For hours this continued. The anticipation of the prolonged outcome was nearly unbearable. When the smoke rose and it appeared to be slowing down there would be a resurgance like a dragons breath. The flames seemed to be licking the sky. The long stretched shadows of anything unlucky enough to be close, cast length and impression. Never has there been a fire like this. The warmth could surely be felt in the surrounding counties. For hours this raged on uninterupted. The only option was to let it slowly die down.
As the flames receded and the smoke began to clear we could approach the heart of this inferno. The embers were glowing and warm. There was a satisfied feeling coming from deep inside. The same feeling felt by anyone that has ever been to a buffet. Except you know that if that little spark was given the chance it would continue without abandon. In this case, we will let the fire burn all the way out before adding any more trash into our homestead trash barrel! 😁😂😂
I hope you enjoyed this perspective of me lighting a trash fire in our burn barrel. Our day to day chores become mundane after a while. We try to have a little fun and see things a little different. Have a great week!
