Where it all began ; Day 248 - 365 Days of Writing : Challenge

Ama stood outside the beautiful city of Kwahu. She couldn't believe she had made it. She was standing on the outskirts of the city that houses her dreams. It has always been her dream to showcase her work at the Belle Museum, the biggest museum in Africa.

With her head held high and her back straight, Ama walked in. It was the biggest day of her life. She was here to participate in the Undraw A Talent competition. She was submitting her masterpiece in the hopes of qualifying for the finals. Just qualifying would be enough for her. The chance to showcase her art at the Belle Museum is a dream come true.

Monday dawned bright and sunny, but Ama was too anxious that day to appreciate nature. Immediately she got up, she tuned in to Peace FM. The names of local talents who qualified to have their art displayed at the museum will be announced on radio. After what seemed like forever, she heard the voice of the announcer.

Hearing her name on radio changed her life even before she actually got her art to the museum. Ama was in a daze after she heard her name. She couldn't believe that her works will be on display at Africa's biggest museum. Tears of joy just kept trickling down her face as she called her parents to tell them about it.

Ama went on to be the second runner-up for the competition. Her paintings were in high and constant demand. Before long, Ama was a household name in Art. After 50 years, Ama once again stood at the outskirts of Kwahu which no longer housed her dream but which was now the place where all her dreams came to true.
