The moon is the queen of the night and the splendour of stormy heavens. A walk in the moonlit night is really an enriching experience and adventure. This walk offers a nocturnal traveller a sweet escape from the hectic day. He can experience a kind of high that will never desert him. The air becomes fresh and romantic. As evening sets in, a nocturnal traveller sees the moon climbing up the sky gradually. Strolling in a moonlit night is delightful in many ways.
Walking in a moonlit night removes the weariness of the work-a-day life. The boredom and monotony of everyday life is withered away. Our spirit is elevated, and the soul is enlivened. It refreshes our mind. A scented freshness fills the delicate air. It seems :
The air is like a butterfly,
with frail blue wings.
The happy Earth looks at the sky,
and sings.
Everything is silent. There is no evil, no despair. There is no noise, no clamour. The real world opens to a traveller. Every moment is a new revelation to a walker. This night gives him a new revelation to a walker. This night gives him a feeling of great peace. The moon with her sweet smile greets each and every object of nature.
The music of night is echoed through the chirping of crickets. One feels that :
There's music in all things, if men had ears.
The Earth is but the music of the sphere.
Time flows by like a song. One just says:
"Away with time, away with corrupt world. Let me enjoy the beauty of the moon. Let me drink, bright moonbeams. Oh, I'm drunk, drunk!"
The entire nature wears a shining silvery robe. Every object appears cheerful. A soothing wind blows. Flowers dance to its tune. They fill the whole air with an unearthly smell. The green fields, the trees look silvery. This beauty transports a nocturnal traveller into the kingdom of joy. Somewhere a dog barks. It disturbs the all-pervading silence. But as the barking ceases, silence engulfs the nature again.
Indeed a moonlit night is a great feast to our eyes. The sights, scenes, and sound of nature are enchanting. To play, sing and talk in such nights are great pleasures.
A walk in a moonlit night is a rewarding experience. By it, we come close to nature. We are no more sick of life. Nature cures our sickness. She is a sound physician. Her treatment is wonderful and permanent. We can perform our duties with renewed zeal and energy.
