The Grey's world (unedited text) part 1 Chapter 1

Author note: Welcome fellow steemians this is unedited text so please forgive me the lack of much interpuncion and load of spelling mistakes I'm probably going to do but if you enjoyed my work of fictionised reality please upvote and reestem.thanks hope you enjoy all comments welcome.

He walked towards the shore and as expected saw no one around. It was a cold dark wet night as usualy unpleasant this time of the year, and anyway they rarely came out after dark, good for him. He carried on towards the unlit hut. As he walked he could just about work out the muddy surface of the tidal marshland, unhurriedly he carried on he had plenty of time the tide wouldnt cut him of for another 3 or 4 hours even if things got bad at some point he knew he could easily swim back to the boat if he'd leave his backpack behind but a night swim this time of year was definately something he didn't fancy even less than loosing his backpack. The surface under his feet changed from mud to gravel then finally to hard concrete of the car park. Not far now just another 300 meters and he'd be inside the hut safe from anybody spotting him from any of the windows of the few houses nearby, not that he expected anybody to be about at this time or that anybody would be looking for him but better safe than sorry, thats how he managed to prevaile for so long. There were others like him still about or so he hoped in the past he met a few when it was all starting but a while passed since his last encouter with a Normal and the way that went maybe for the better. He got inside the hut and quickly started filling the water containers from his back pack, he didn't fancy being surrounded inside the hut housing the public toilets, he felt much safer in the open even better on his little boat but he needed the water, he could only collect so much from the rainwater catching containers on deck. Once all 3 containers were full he listened in silence just to make sure there is nobody outside and once sure he began his return journey. Another successful trip he thought to himeself with a bit of dark humour as he walked off the concrete of the car park into the muds of the tidal marshland. His joy was shortlived as his thoughts returned to the matter of the rapidly diminishing food supply but he'd worry about that later, there were still 2 other boats on swivel moorings in the tidal harbour, maybe he'd get lucky for a change and find a nice stash of canned food on one of them, all in its own time no point in rushing he was safe for now. They never walked out past the tide line nor did he ever see any planes in the sky or cars driving anywhere near the speed limit not even pedestrians crossing the road in other than designated areas which in rural areashe found quite comical, seeing them from far away walk a mile just to cross a street on which you saw a car once a week if you were lucky and even then it would be going the usual 20 miles an hour tops it was a weird world in which as if a mad paranoid health and safty executive was in charge nobody did anything that could be considered even slightly risky even by the most extremely paranoid standards, like everybody was so scared of any harm coming to them that it prevented them from living in the first place.
