Story on why the tortoise has a crooked nose.

Story story story

Once upon a time
There were two good friends, the tortoise and the squirrel. The squirrel is an animal who likes eating palm kernel and that later got him in trouble.

One evening the squirrel was asking the tortoise that the next day is the market day and they have no money, that what business can they do to make money, then tortoise told him that since he knows how to make burnt clay pot that the squirrel should join him in taking the plate for sale in the market.

The tortoise waited for the squirrel the following day but didn’t see him so he decided to go to the market alone and on getting to the market; he dropped his burnt clay pot to his stand.

As he was doing that, he saw two people fighting and when he looked closely, he could see his friend the squirrel wrestling with the mole, and a woman was trying to explain to him what happen but he didn’t listen rather he pick up a stick and he joined the people wresting and he started hitting the mole with the stick.

Then the mole turned to him and started biting his nose and the tortoise started crying for help and also the mole didn’t leave him not until he bits off his nose. Then a woman who was trying to tell tortoise why they were fighting now explained to him that The Squirrel stole palm kernels and the the mole wanted to expose him and that was what led to their fight.

And when the tortoise didn’t ask what led to the fight and he just decides to take sides with the squirrel and then the tortoise started singing,

The fight was between the mole and the squirrel,
I have only come to intervene in the fight
But the mole bit off my nose,
Please save me from him,
My burnt clay pots are in the market unattended to.

And since that event occurred, the tortoise has remained with a crooked nose up till date.

Moral of the lesson

It teaches us to settle dispute between two people with wisdom and
We should not be partial by taking sides whenever there is a dispute between two or more people.

THANKS for going through this.

Hahahahaha, reminds of me the stories we used to tell about the clever tortoise and all its tricks. There's a great lesson for us to learn from this story and I hope people will put this in their life.
