Never Give up: A Story of a discouraged local farmer

Dear Steemians,

Do you believe in the glorious future? Many times we are going through unpleasant situations we tend to forget about the coming glorious that future hold for us, instead we started ask questions like: Why me? Shouldn’t be me, why now? And the likes. I heard a story of a great man who chose to look into the future and neglect discouragement from others.
This farmer name was call “Akiolu” he was a local farmer in a village called Aseri, Akiolu was a very hard working and respectful man.

The village of Aseri was a very fertile and reached in agriculture this attracted many farmers from far and near to Aseri village. Life in Aseri village became very comfortable, but due to massive cultivation in this village, farm product got surplus and more farmers in the village become more poorer. The king of Aseri village told the king bell ringer (King Messenger) to pass the information to all villagers come last day of week everybody should gather at king palace by 8am to discuss about the progress of the land and to find means of storage to reduce farm product from wastage.

Akiolu felt sick during the mid-week he couldn’t make it to the palace at the said day of the gathering in the palace, those who present at the venue returned home and found Akiolu at home, they envy him and went straight to reported to the King. Akiolu was summoned and got arrested immediately he arrived at the king palace, he was arrested and detained without hearing his excuses either genuine or not. In the last day of the week which is exactly a week he got detained in the cell Akiolu was finally released and brought before the king, he was then asked why he couldn’t made it to the palace, when the king heard about his sickness he felt pity at him. King decided to compensate him and gave him some plots of land near the forest of evil (Terrestrial/Ritual Forest). Many villagers including those who reported him heard of it, they started laughed of him, some says he was punished for his action of disobeying king order, while some says king doesn’t want him to be kill him instantly, so he want terrestrial spirits to punish him to death. Akiolu was not discouraged by their negatives words, he started working on the land given to him by the king, each day when he was coming from this farm, he usually met an old may on the way coming from the busy, Akiola would run to him and relive him of the heavy load on his head.

One day, Akiola worked till late on the farm land, he was very tired he can hardly stand on his feet, while he was rested under a big he saw the same old man coming towards him, he nearly run to him but he couldn’t due to the tiredness, the old man moved closer and started blessing him, the old man told him his effort will be reward soon, but he shouldn’t give up no matter what anyone says to discouraged him. In the second day Akiola was on his way to the farm as usual but met his haters along the road, they chants fools song at him, mocking him and went their way, Akiola felt bad at their actions, he started crying while he continue walking but on getting to the farm Akiola saw a bag under the tree where he was rested yesterday, when he opened the bag he found money and treasures inside this bag.

He took the bad up and run to the old man house and he was told the man was passed on last night, Akiola continued by asking about the old man wife and the children, all they told him was, he was living alone for years with no kids or wife, they don’t know any of his (the old man) family, Akiola burst to tears, he couldn’t wait long he went straight to the palace and reported what happen, King told him “it was a blessing from ancestor, so go and enjoying your wealth” Akiola continue in his tears of joy, he went home with his blessed wealth.

Don’t give up in life because things has yet working for you, if there is life, beyond doubt there is hope, if Akiola gave up early because of the negatives words from others, he wouldn't have archive such, but because he turn a deaf ear to them even though at some points he felt bad, still he didn't give up.
