She didn't expect him to say such, they've only dated for like what, two months? Yet he said it... She looked up in his face, searching through his eyes, saw nothing but his love for her, and she knew he meant every word he said... She was happy, in the same vain she confused, sad, angry, loved, all at once, she didn't know which to feel... She just looked at him, she just looked so deep into him!!
Chinedu needed her to say something, anything but this silence, she was just looking at him with so much intensity that it's scary... He had thought about what he said for a long time, it had always been on his mind, but he just needed to take it slow with her... Two months was like forever... Now was perfect, now was the time to ask her to marry him, She still hadn't said a word, he only got her looking at him...
Oh God please, if she rejects him, he will feel shitty, though he didn't have a ring, yet, but he will, her consent mattered!!!
She looked at him and called him, Chinedu, am scared about my dad, he is a very important figure in my life, I don't think he will give his blessings, Chinedu drew her close, with his hands under her chin he said... Baby, we will make him see our feelings for what it is, which is how real our love is... She sighs, but he held on, and said, baby, let's just leave it be for now, but promise me you will always be mine and will never leave me... ITOHAN looked at him and removing a pendant she had on her wrists... She gave him with a kiss and whispered, I promise darling, I promise
ITOHAN got home that day, she was so happy, she couldn't believe that the man of her dreams just asked her to marry him... And yet her father told her most boys were just out to ruin her future, well her Chinedu was different, her father didn't know, no he didn't, and she and her Chinedu will surely prove it to him... She got to her room, and few minutes later, heard her dad got in from work, she waited for him to call, and in less than ten minutes, he called for her, she went to him, and he simply looked at her, smiled, and asked her to get her step mum for him...
He watched his daughter go, still saw the dreamy look in her eyes, he knew what it meant, and scared as he may be that she was going to make a mistake that will break his heart and hers forever, there was little or nothing he could do, she was 19years old, oh he just wished her mum was around...!!!
ITOHAN couldn't wait to see Chinedu the next day, she couldn't bear staying far away from him, right in her face, her own fairy tale was playing out, ohh God loved her... With that thought in her heart she smiled and drifted off to sleep… Counting the hours in her head, the hours to her freedom, the hours to her fairy-tale...
