Once Upon A Time "The Rising of a Phoenix” Episode 1 (Written By Brainz)

The sky was clear, but very windy, the trees swayed gently to the rhythm of the winds…it was a Wednesday in the southern city of Benin kingdom, Nigeria, in the year 1982…its high school, you could see students all over with uniforms , conversing, and laughing…Then she walks out of the class, every one stops, the boys drool and the girls in envy ,she is the star in all who gazes on her, oblivious of the eyes on her she slowly, elegantly walk to a tree shade and sat down, she brought out a novel and starts reading…. Everybody went about their conversations except one……he looked at her, admires her beauty with a longing so intense it haunts him….

Like her he is a very handsome young man, tall with broad shoulders, he’s light skinned, deep velvet eyes that could melt stones, he was the prince charming to every girl…mothers wanted him for their daughters, girls fought for his attention, yet, he had eyes for just the very one who didn’t even notice is existence, the only girl so beautiful he loses his breath for, by just looking at her, the very one sitting under the shade of a tree reading oblivious to her surroundings.

He has to get her, the thoughts keeps haunting him, he wants her to be his, he believes he’s in loves her, oh God, she has rebuffed all tactics to be close to her, he has tried everything, yet nothing seems to work, as he lays and ponders on what to do, he got an idea, he took his bath and raced to a bookshop.

Later that afternoon he waited lo and behold his fantasy came walking out, God she looked so beautiful, he watched her, even the girls vying for his attention was becoming annoying, so he stood up and walks towards her.

HIM: hi
SHE: looks up from her novel with a slight frown creasing her beautiful face… hi
HIM: uhm, sorry, can I sit with you?
SHE: Why please (sounding irritated)
HIM: Smiles, my name is Chinedu, we share classes,
SHE: okay, Chinedu good to meet you.. Anything else?
He froze, seems to be lost for what next to say, she had intense eyes, which were making him quite uncomfortable, he's almost cringing to a corner, when he remembered what he got her from the bookshop.
Chinedu: I bought you something (his hands her three novels) she looks up to him and smiles for the first time, showing her slight gap tooth n dimples!!!

Thanking him, she collected the books, it was all the thing he needed, he felt fulfilled, as he made to leave, she caught his hands and says... My name is ITOHAN.

ITOHAN, ITOHAN, he whistles in the bathroom, they've become so close, quite inseparable in fact, he simply adores her
Together they look so good... Him so handsome, and she so damn beautiful
He was going to make her his forever, he was going to love her forever .

ITOHAN (POINT OF VIEW)

ITOHAN, lies on her bed, smiling to the ceiling, her beautiful face dreamy, when her elder sister's comes in...Disrupting her private party, she gets up. And walks out gently!!

ITOHAN is from a wealthy home in ancient Benin City, her father was a police commissioner in Edo State... He was very strict, she had lots of brothers and sisters
Her mum had her and her younger brother for their father before she left back to her home town due to some irreconcilable differences.

So ITOHAN grew up with her step mum who didn't care how they fared, but she was her father's favorite
He was a very formidable man ‘her father... About 7 feet tall, very dark and very handsome, he had the air of royalty
And he was blessed with the gift of sight... Psychic abilities, he was so strong, he was revered... But he remained humble and preferred to live his life quietly
When ITOHAN was about six years old... Her father discovered she inherited his gifts... And slowly as she grew, it grew with her.

He was a man of few words, but they each shared a bond so strong that words were not needed to express it...
Over the years, he thought her little of what she was seeing, and how she could cope with her fears
He watched her grow... With pride he watched silently as she blossomed into a princess... And then ever so subtly... He noticed the change in her.
