At least Anna's dad knows that Anna will have a partner who can look after her and protect her before he vacates the Earth. It is great to see that Anna is finding her autonomy and independence that she seemed to have lacked while she was (mostly) obedient to others throughout the novel.
A really heartbreaking chapter as this is finally when Marty passes away but that sorrow is mitigated by the joy she feels from seeing her dad and her mother reunited.
