Chapter 1.

INTERSTELLAR NEWS CHANNEL 9 NEWS FLASH

The rise of the mysterious Mr Fluffy and his droid army continues as more Federation planets in the Inner System are invaded. Our reporters have confirmed the total destruction of the capital planet and the loss of its entire population. We have also been able to confirm that the Federal Navy has suffered a crippling defeat as droids in their own ranks turned on them, murdering servicemen and destroying ships at the height of a battle before the rebel space station of Hunter’s Rest. Reports also state that the Ick and rebels of the Outer Systems have suffered similar crushing losses.
Droid forces all over the Inner Systems of the Federation have been targeting remaining security forces and seizing control of key positions. With no apparent leadership left in the Federation, some planets have signalled their surrender to the droid forces under the command of the thus far unknown Mr Fluffy. We have entered dark days for the Federation, as an organisation that has protected peace and trade between all our planets begins to crumble.
Religious leader of all five hundred and fifty-two ‘only one true faiths’ and six thousand and forty-nine other religions have pleaded for calm as massive crowds gather around the temples and churches as the people of the Federation pray for a hero to save them. The priests of Sung the One-eyed Llama have gone as far as naming the hero we all need; they are saying only Alienbutt can save us. Yet the fate of the rebel commander is unknown with no sightings of him in more than a year.

Hydroponic walked onto the control deck of the space station. Ji salvage teams had started ripping out control desks even before the last defenders on the planet below had been subdued. Big Ji sat in the command chair looking more like a child than the leader of the most lawless and destructive race known to the universe. Hydroponic knew that the most destructive race wasn’t actually the Ji.
Mankind caused far more damage and destruction in total, but managed to make its destruction return a tidy profit and that was good for the universal economy. The Ji didn’t care about money or profit, they just took what they wanted or needed so they could move on to their next target and steal more things. Their title as most destructive race actually came down to the fact that they made the least contribution to the universal economy from the destruction they caused.
