Afraid to Fail?

Back in 2010 I was traveling with some of my friends from Edo State, Nigeria to Lagos State, Nigeria. We were going for a scholarship exam, it was one hell of a trip,as the road was bad, already past 08:00pm and we are yet to arrive in Lagos, this was my first time traveling this road it was night time and we passed the international headquarters of Winners Chapel which is also referred to as Faith Tabanacles, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, the lighting was out of this world, I kept looking at it until I couldn't see it again, when we finally got to Lagos, we checked in our hotel, and the next day we went for the exams, I wasn't feeling confident on what I've written, even when my friends kept saying the exam was a cheap exam, I had my worries and I would just smile when asked how it was. We set out for Benin after the exam, and we passed this same Faith Tabanacles but this time it wasn't as beautiful, same structures, what happened, what was missing? This same building I saw last night looking all beautiful, was now "without form" and then it hit me, and I came up with this quote.

The beauty of light is seen in the dark

Why did I go about this story. You see dark times is and will be, it's not to destroy us but to make us shine, it's not to bring us down but to build us.

A song writer wrote

Sunny days wouldn't be special if it wasn't for rain
Joy wouldn't feel so good if it wasn't for pain

This I've found to be true, as Thomas Edison would say,

I have not failed. I've just found 10000 ways that won't work.

So in conclusion, instead of having fear of failure when faced with a dark, or trying time or tough situation, whatever you want to call it, I urge you to see it as an opportunity to grow, an opportunity to improve, an opportunity to learn and an opportunity to shine.

@surpassinggoogle has been a source of motivation to a lot of us, especially those of us from Nigeria that are new to steeming, with the #untalented-adjustments , which encourages us to pour out our heart, he's one of the motivators for writing this post to serve as encouragement to anyone faced with a difficult situation and also @swissclive has been a true inspiration, I never thought I could write like this, when she introduced the short story challenge #story-300words, many users have picked it up and have explored their creative side, I picked it up as well and so far I've written two.

You never know what you can do without trying, and to me this is what kills most dreams, as true failure is not failure itself but failing to give it a try, failing to take a chance. 2018 Best year yet. Happy Steeming.

This is so motivating bro, however, did you pass the exam? I'm just curious oh!

I didn't pass that one but the next one.

Interesting, but sadly does not qualify as fiction. Read the instructions.

Yes I know it isn't fictional, just wanted to write a short story that would motivate newbies and every steemian at large
