Ankle MedKit

This is technically a repost of a video, but its still just as important today as it was when I made it a few months ago...
H aving a solid kit that enables you to control massive hemorrhage (#hemcon) is vitally important. Lots of other EDC stuff is more fun and more than likely even gets more use, but few things are as effective as purpose built tools at stopping the bleeding when the time comes.

I still carry this very often, but have found it doesn't work too well with chinos (regular fit Bluffworks Chinos anyway) because that style of pants gets a little slimmer towards the ankle. I'm going to try it with just the SOFTT-W tourniquet and a pack of combat gauze to see if that makes it easier to carry in chino style pants.

Do you have 5.11 pants? The Taclite Pro's are pretty good.

I'm pretty anti-cargo pants unless I'm operating operationally in operations (ie required/being paid to wear them) they're not very stylish in my opinion and a pretty big target indicator to the wrong people.

I guess they are more of a 'work' pants, I see most paramedics wear something similar. As far as fashion, they kind of look like old school painters pants without the paint...

I should have clarified I mainly only wear this rig in street clothes. Not when I'm doing clinical rotations. Then I wear scrubs. If I could wear 5.11s for clinicals I would in a heartbeat haha.
But around here if you wear them day today to class/the office you're either a cop/security, you're a wannabe, you're someone who just got out of the military and doesn't know how to dress in anything that has less than 10 pockets, or you just like to look like a security contractor from the earlier days or the Iraq/Afghanistan wars.
They're functional pants for sure, but they don't blend well in an urban environment.

For those that have some tactical gear/cloths, they are easily recognized and they catch your eye, at least for me. I have them, but never wore them consistently. They are still new... If I were to go out on a range day in the boonies, I'd probably wear them.
