High Dividend Yield YTD Performance (NYMT, CMFN, & CNSL)

Introduction
In this post, I wanted to present three graphs. The first graph shows the dividend yield for companies that have high dividend yields. The second graph shows the year to date returns of each of the 3 companies. The third graph shows the year to date performance of each of the 3 companies (current stock price + dividends / stock price as of January 1). As demonstrated by the third graph, New York Mortgage Trust and CM Finance have performed the best of the three stocks, but none of the stocks have performed particularly well compared to some of the other stocks examined.

The first thing that comes to mind for those who are not well acquainted with the market: to buy shares on all shoulders on the cut-off day and get dividends:) But, as you know, free cheese is only in a mousetrap - the next day, stock will trade without dividends and usually, the stock will fall by the dividend amount after the actual cutoff day. So I don't focus much on the charts. It's not always true and objective info. The only way to make quick money on dividends is to predict that the size of the board recommendation before the recommendation hits the news. Such surprises are rare, but possible. I also suggest checking out this chart. It`s a pretty impressive list of aristocrats that I'm focusing on.
