RE: Day Four ~ Seven Day B&W Challenge ~ Original Photography ~
Around these parts, when a cat lays on his/her back and tries to push you away, we call it doing "Bunny Death Kicks". I think that it is good Stinky the Cat does not have sharp back claws that don't retract. I might not have a gullet left...
The oldest cat on record was Crème Puff from Austin, Texas, who lived from 1967 to August 6, 2005, three days after her 38th birthday. A cat typically can live up to 20 years, which is equivalent to about 96 human years.
Deviating from Stinky the Cat here (she left the room to go see what a commotion was), I once had a white cat named Suzy. She lived to be 21 years old. Got hit by a diaper truck on Jersey Avenue. My mother was convinced Suzy was tired of living, and committed suicide. "She'd crossed that road thousands of times, with no trouble. I think it was intentional."
Like Suzy, my Mother was a true classic. (Unlike Suzy, my Mother did not get hit by a diaper truck.)
Uh Oh, Stinky the Cat's back. Don't mention the above, please.
One reason that kittens sleep so much is because a growth hormone is released only during sleep.
Maybe I'm hanging around cats too much. I must be proximal-ly osmoticizing in cat DNA. I seem to have this same problem as well. Especially in the morning on work days when the alarm clock goes off.
Most cats sleep around 16 hours a day
