RE: Day Four ~ Seven Day B&W Challenge ~ Original Photography ~

Tell me about this one too. Stinky the Cat licks my face sometimes when I am asleep. It hurts. Especially the eyelids. I think it is these barbs you're always talking about on here. All I ever say to Stinky the Cat in retort is: "go drink from the sink with your pokey barbs, Stinky". It seems to fall on deaf ears.

PS. I think this fact might be incorrect. I have picture evidence from Robert the Cat drinking from a puddle. It is more of a cupping action with the tongue. I think someone hoodwinked you on this barb thing. Might ask for a small % refund from the Little-Known Kitty Fact Company of Whereverville, USA.

Cats' eyes shine in the dark because of the tapetum, a reflective layer in the eye, which acts like a mirror.

Hey, I told you about the tapetum lucidum 27 minutes ago. Besides me needing to get a life and stop answering cat facts all night long on a Saturday, I think I need to buy you a new set of "cat facts" books. You can't just mirror what I talk about here. That's not fair. I don't have the resources you do. I have to rely on my wits and the wisdom of Stinky the Cat here...

The way you treat kittens in the early stages of it's life will render it's personality traits later in life.

So, let me get this straight. If I had started discussing these ideas about Stinky the Cat getting a paper route or other odd jobs to help pay for cat food, but started a bit EARLIER, I might have been more successful in this whole cat-get-a-job thing? NOW you tell me.

A cat's appetite is the barometer of its health. Any cat that does not eat or drink for more than two days should be taken to a vet.

But what if your cat wants to eat 47 times a day?! Does that mean we get credit at the veterinarians? Like a coupon or something, the ones they give out at WallyWorld and such...so we can get 10% off on our next visit to the vet?

Cats have the largest eyes of any mammal.

I wonder if they know this. Do you think they would care? Would they get a big head? Their eyes might fit better.
Things to keep you up at night and ponder.

A form of AIDS exists in cats.

An adult lion's roar can be heard up to five miles (eight kilometers) away.

Since Stinky the Cat's meow'r is broken, she can't be heard beyond the kitchen sink. But as in life, sometimes in cat-land, actions speak louder than words. Maybe that's why she always opens up the new cat food bag at night while we sleep, after we bring it home. Her way of saying "You have yours, this is my refrigerator. Stay out".

Cats and kittens should be acquired in pairs whenever possible as cat families interact best in pairs.

I'm pretty sure a pair of Stinky the Cat's would be a bit too much for the average CAT-Owner-Bear to handle. So I will just stick to the one, thankyouverymuch.

According to Hebrew legend, Noah prayed to God for help protecting all the food he stored on the ark from being eaten by rats. In reply, God made the lion sneeze, and out popped a cat.

My long-departed cat Wellsley sneezed once, and out popped a big old blade of grass. Not the same as a cat out the schnozzer, but then again, a cat sneezing a cat out of a cats nose would have made the eleven o'clock news. This only made me grossed out for a short bit...

In ancient Egypt, when a family cat died, all family members would shave their eyebrows as a sign of mourning.

I once burned my eyebrows off with a faulty camp stove. I'm glad Stinky the Cat was not around at this time of my life. She is a SNAK (Sensitive New Age Kitty). She might have been jealous...or worse...worried about her future.

You check your cats pulse on the inside of the back thigh, where the leg joins to the body. Normal for cats: 110-170 beats per minute.
