@fulltimegeek's #stewardsofgondor weekly stats with self-vote percentage data

in #stewardsofgondor6 years ago (edited)

In a selfless act of monumental proportions, @fulltimegeek's Steem Power is currently delegated to around 50 users to help curate and support communities across Steemit.

If you have received an up-vote from myself, or anyone else in the following list over the past month or so, then you have @fulltimegeek to thank for the much larger vote you have been gifted.

If you wish to know 'why?' someone would loan out this Steem Power, you can find out here.

A focus on self-voting

Before numbers this week, I have added an additional column which shows the percentage of self-voting done in the past 7 days.

This was one of the requests from Steward @reko, and I think it is a good addition to the numbers in order for @fulltimegeek to judge if too much of his Steem Power is being used in this regard.

There can be positive reasons for the occasional self-vote. E.g. moving a comment above a set of spam comments on an introduction post. However, with the self-vote percentage available, it's possible to see just how much of the weekly SP is going towards these personal votes.

The other suggestion by @reko was to list 'vote selling' delegations by the Stewards to see if any 'personal' Steem Power is being delegated to the likes of @minnowbooster. With respect, I suggest that if you are receiving a free Steem Power delegation, it doesn't look great if you are selling your vote at the same time.

This information is harder to list for each Steward, due to the DB table structure, and so I have not included this data today. I can confirm that personally, I don't have any SP delegated to 'bid-bots'.

To the numbers we go!

Stats and Star Stewards

This week, the number of Posts and Comments are up, and the number of Self-votes are down - nice!

source

@cranium, @cecicastor, and @lyndsaybowes have all posted over 500 comments - top interacting!

@taskmaster4450 leads the way again with amount of Comments text totaling 95113 characters - hail keyboards!

@hitmeasap, @cecicastor, @stackin, @coolguy123, @lyndsaybowes, @crimsonclad, and @teamhumble have all handed out over 1000 votes this past week - up-vote legends!

@coolguy123 - Master steward of goodwill to all with over 800 unique Steemians reached with his votes this past week - sharing the love!

Summary

So Stewards, how do you think you've done this week?

Again, I don't think my numbers are as good as previous weeks' - On Saturday though, we move to a new location where I'm hoping the wi-fi will be better and I can get a lot more curation done.

I have delegated SP to 3 'personal' accounts, and these users now have over 500 SP (Steemit slider activated) or now have double the SP they own personally. I'm still looking to delegate a little more, and will evaluate this over the weekend.

Thank you @fulltimegeek!

I've noticed some personal support of my own and @osm0sis's blogs which is really amazing of you, and icing on the cake!

Thank you so much!

Until next time, steem on Stewards!

Asher @abh12345

AWESOME job everyone!!!

I am happily skipping along! While my word count dropped this week, I am still content with the 78k+ I wrote. I willingly hand the writing record torch back to @tasakmaster4450- with the understanding he better watch his back- lol

@coolguy123 - dude! you really are amazing!

I have delegated to two fellow steemians myself! I call them the Golden Ambassadors. I will be adding one more; the third coming up in the next week- wanted to do it this week, but got side-tracked with some other SOG happenings I started.

  • Doing a January Into February Thaw (just like my Secret Santa event)
  • Started mentoring more people with an initiative started by @davemccoy called the newbieresteemday, which he has called and tagged deardawne
  • Am continuing my Embracing A Steemian weekly event
  • Just posted about Fostering another steemian weekly

Plus a few more little here and there ideas.

Being a SOG has been a life-changing event for me and I am so ecstatic to be abe to continue guiding, helping and being able to return the pay-it-forward feeling to other members!

@fulltimegeek is an amazing person who has taught all of us what it means to give back.

And @abh12345 not to be forgotten- Your chats and help have been a tremendous support system for me!

I have to chuckle as people seem to over look that @wwf guy who pounded out 87k+ characters and came in 2nd this week! bwahahahaha. Look out @taskmaster4450, I'm after that title brother! Sorry @goldendawne, but there is competition for that title now that I have so many people posting on my blog. My keyboard is wearing out and I may need to get a new computer. :)

Seriously though, it is so wonderful to see people have FUN!!! It is not work at all when we enjoy doing what we do. So to all the SOG, you rock! For fun I decided to do some number crunching a couple days ago. This is what I found:

At the moment, @fulltimegeek has delegated 311,347.799 steem to 49 individuals making up the Stewards of Gondor. The Stewards have since delegated 28,679.707 steem of their own to 93 other users! It is flowing down hill (trickle economics). That means 142 delegations have taken place and that does not included the thousands upon thousands of people that the Stewards of Gondor or the 93 others have upvoted and supported. It is indeed powerful. It would not surprise me if the Stewards of Gondor have touched the lives of 25% of steemit users in one way or another.

To put that into perspective, given the price of steem at this moment being $6.60US, @fulltimegeek has delegated $2.05 MILLION US dollars and the SOG have delegated $189,000 US. That is a lot of influence! Steem on SOG!

There's no shame in coming second. I have the second best beard on steemit (I need update my photo), then again, @fulltimegeek's (assuming that's his beard in the photo above, then again, reality-hyppereality WTD?) is one hell of a beard, so no shame there, at all!

Nice stats above, this whole trickle-down phenomena is something I'd never come across before.

You guys are absolutely one of the soundest communities on steemit, made even better as the whole Lord of the Rings reference takes me right back to reading the novel when I was 11, and I'm practically guaranteed to get a reply, which is nice!

P.S. You've got until August to claim that top spot - when I'm done with my current teaching job and had a couple of weeks off, I'm all over this comment competition. 87K characters... that's not even an essay! ;)

Depending on how things go between now and August, you could be joining us on the Blockchain hippy trail!?

As long as the chain weathers the current assault by nation states. Otherwise I'll be joining you in the blockchain gutter. I'm quitting work whatever!

Bravo. Congratulations for your first step at being free and no longer a slave to the system. I quit my job 11 years ago and I've not looked back and will never go back! I do think that the blockchain gutter you are speaking of is a massive aqueduct that will flush away the banks and usher in an era of prosperity while teaching people how to duplicate the lessons in real life. :)

Oh that's a good play on the gutter analogy!

See you there, wherever there is!

Indeed - it's comforting to know the blockchain defies geolocation.

lol. You are right. 87k is only a chapter or two. Time to pick up the pace. I think you have FTG on the beard though as the last video I saw showed no beard at all. Your your title is safe ... but sleeping with one eye open is advised in the event somebody comes to shave half of it for you while you sleep. Thank you so much for commenting and participating. Wonderful to witness! Thank you for helping to support and encourage the team! Bravo

Half a beard.. could catch on.

I'm so sorry @wwf! You know it wasn't intentional.
I just get so excited when I see updates from @abh12345 & @fulltimegeek that I am practically dancing in my chair.

My dear @goldendawne, I was only teasing and joining in on your jocularity as I knew full well how excited you are. Please don't take it any other way. I'm not upset in the least. Keep dancing in that chair my friend. Steem on and don't bother worrying about me. I like sneaking up when nobody is looking anyway. hahaha! No need for any sorry or sorrow. <3

It was a slow week for me...my commenting was down.

A substandard week for me.....

I promise to set a higher bar for you to aim for.

Of course, if you do top me @wwf, I cannot think of a better Steemian to come in second to.

Oh the big guy announced that he is coming to the party and warning the current title holders. That shows the healthy competition and scope for improvement to others. :). Thanks @wwf for all those stats to show what these delegations are worth to Steemit. Appreciate those details.

The 'big guy'. hahaha Plenty of fish out there bigger than me! Your welcome about the stats. I was curious about how it is all trickling down. So while I was waiting painfully for the steem to push my avatar into dolphin waters, I did some digging. I'm glad you like it! Thank you @coolguy123 for the work you are doing for the SOG.

Thanks for those kind words again @wwf. Yes, stats always makes us interesting, especially when the stats are about the impact on Steemit and about @fulltimegeek, it makes them even more interesting.

Now that, there is an additional responsibility with more SP, should make me work even harder. I wish to to see better results for myself by next week's report.

Happy to be part of SOG :)

Thank you for mentioning me @goldendawne. You and @taskmaster4450 are going by neck to neck for the "Hail the Keyboards" category :).

Congratulations to both of you for not letting that top position slip to anyone else ;)

Along with your contests, your effort on comments, now you are showing in another way that you are a generous person like FTG by getting ready for third delegation from your account. Appreciate you for that and being an role model.

All I can say is that continue the inspiration you are doing and wish many more success for you :)

You are amazing and more than the upvote you give people it's the comments that really make a difference in building their confidence and making them feel they belong to a great community.

That pay it forward indeed has become so infectious that even new people are doing their bid to lift there fellow planktons and Minnows.

It's the wonderful people like you and the rest of SOG that is making Steem great again.

Thank you @goldendawne

The work above just shows how much you are doing for the Steemit community, an outstanding effort.

There's really no need to thank me, we owe so much to @fulltimegeek, as do our followers and delegates.

I wish I could have done more this last couple of weeks, but I'm really happy to be a part of this team that is working so well, and guiding each other and other Steemit users along.

Well done!

If someone had asked me in June 2017, what I would be doing today... I never would have answered ALL this!

But yes, @abh12345 I do need to thank you. You post these weekly updates (which I don't know about other SOGs- but it motivates me even more) and I can see progress and how much I contribute. I am my own worst critic; so if I slough off... I may get called into the boss' office.

And you have been VERY supportive of all the SOGs. That's something none of us overlook.

😊

Thank you.

It's really a great team effort, and I'm very happy to do my bit.

Have a great afternoon/evening!

First thing first, thanking @fulltimegeek for the generosity and thank you @abh12345 for the improvised report with details of self votes.

Happy to be named under 2 categories, though I am not even coming near to the toppers in the first and second category(hail the keyboards and top interactions), this is partly due to maintaining my number 1 position of reaching unique steemians and I spend about 40% of my time on my own posts as well to earn something.

As for as the "delegating my own steem", I have done a small delegation of 300 SP to SmartSteem(I think that's why I was not featured in curation leagues of @abh12345) with an intention of earning some SBD to buy Steem Power and delegate to one of the eligible member (I am planning to delegate atleast 500 SP), need your or FTG's guidance on this whether to revoke the delegation I have done.

@goldendawne, @taskmaster4450, @cranium, @cecicastor, @lyndsaybowes, @hitmeasap, @stackin, @crimsonclad and @teamhumble, congratulations for your achievements and being role models in the categories you have been mentioned.

Good wishes for all to improve and achieve more success as #stewardsofgondor

:) Thank you and good day to all

Excellent work as always @coolguy123 regarding the curating with votes.

i think the bottom line is that it's your stake, but I honestly see a delegation to a bid-bot not being the best way to use your stake for the community. However, I'm not the judge of this, and so My comments are just that.

Perhaps seeking 1/2/3 new or struggling Steemians who's blogs add value would be a better approach - or keep the SP to provide a larger vote to your 'curatees'.

Thanks for your support!

Asher

Your words means a lot to me @abh12345. Thank you.

I will take back the delegation I have done as early as possible and concentrate on contributing with what I have been successful, the upvotes to many Steemians thru curation. Thanks for the suggestion.

My only concern is, I will be missing myself from your curation leagues for one or 2 more weeks :( but I promise to come back in a stronger way with this increased SP delegation from @fulltimegeek.

I think this the right decision @coolguy123 and I commend you for this action.

The curation league 1 will be awating your return, you will still be ok for the 2nd league.

Thanks

Asher

Great!!! Thanks for the confirmation @abh12345. Looking forward to the curation leagues.

Thanks for these interactions. Unknowingly I have written so many comments in this blog itself :)

Thank you and Have a wonderful day :)

A pleasure.

And yes, this blog produces many interactions which really pleases me!

Thank you, and you also.

That's right, because we have stats to discuss, there is always a scope for more comments and replies for us.

Thank You :)

Thanks for the kind words.

You are welcome @cranium. Keep achieving more and inspiring other members of SOG.

I spend a ton of time in research and content creation. I don't think too much about how I use the SP, except I like to give as large of votes as possible, but notice my VP gets pretty low if I don't move the slider down, so now my average votes are 25-50% while tending towards 100 for the users I think could really use the help. I have a few users on autovote, but all of those are around 50%.

I spend A Lot of vp in the comments section of my posts, which is probably spread to newer users more. I have a few friends and favorites I support, but I'm mostly looking for content that is informative and interesting. Occasionally I'll even place a 100% on a post between 25-30 minutes that I feel will bring good curation value, but that is probably lowest on my list of priorities. Also, I will use to flag spam occasionally.

Thank you for your service

I think this is a balanced approached and definitely brings value to the Stewards.

Your blogs have been flying recently, well done to you!

Well Stewards amazing stats yes we are ensuring the quality all over by reducing the self-upvoting culture here on steemit.
Actually i did not know early that self voting is against the rules of Stewards of Gondor untill i read @abh12345 previous blog regarding weekly percentage stats. Infact a Big thanks to Asher for guiding the many new comers :)

Great Job Guys :)

@cranium, @cecicastor, and @lyndsaybowes have all posted over 500 comments - top interacting!

Lets together make this place an awesome platform to fulfill the vision of @fulltimegeek :)

My Support is with Stewards of Gondors always

Stay Blessed, Steem On!

Hi Salman, thanks for your comments.

I would not say there is a rule against self-voting, but I think with our delegation gifts it is better to have as low a % as possible.

Have a good evening and, Steem on!

This is something very good and i appreciate this great thing, i am sure this thing is going to bring quality :)
You're always welcome @cranium :)

Thanks for the explanation Asher :) <3

Always a pleasure, thank you 😊

Thanks for the kind words.

Again I could not reach the mark of 1000 comments. Well, I'm throwing myself another challenge !!! The next week to overcome the mark of 1000 comments. Thank you for your work. Your tests are best on steemit.

Good luck @cranium and thank you for your comments and support.

Holy cow 500 comments in 7 days!! The engagement level is over 9000!!!!!

800 unique steemians recieving an upvote and I joke that I am omnipresent ahahah that person is a god hahaha.

I do see a lot of those people everywhere and they comment, they share the love and make a lot of connections with people.

I am so proud to see these kinds of people and will try to emulate them. In making this community feel smaller and interactive will be the key to its success and getting more people join in and create their own content.

My opinion hardly matters as I have not even reached minnow level but great work to everyone!

Well, @maverickinvictus, thanks I guess I am being mentioned under the second para in your comment.

Though there is a mention in the details shared by @abh12345, there is always a scope for improvement and to achieve more even for everyone. Guys like @taskmaster4450 and @goldendawne likes expressing their view through comments and they are sitting pretty at the top in that category. Likewise someone like me who is not much expressive by comments, but like to contribute because I am blessed by @fulltimegeek, so I chose this way of rewarding more Steemians with whatever the amount of vote.

Everyone wants to top each of the categories, but time is the constraint for us to contribute in one or 2 categories and be happy.

But, if we challenge ourselves, there is always a possibility of making it to the top of other groups and show more love to more Steemians as part of being #stewardofgondor.

I believe we all add our own special touch to the SOG; just as you said @coolguy123.
And I think @fulltimegeek saw that in all of us.

We all have our strengths and together we work as one BIG unit or community to share, give back and help others advance and remain committed to the steemit platform's success.

Whereas one person can comment, another can UPvote, yet more can make contact where another cannot see. We are all one piece to the finished puzzle.

I absolutely agree! The different areas of strength is what makes a good team 😁

Well said, yes, we are contributing in different ways but as a team. Team work always yields better results and thanks for pointing to that.

Have a great day :)

True that and I try teach it to our fellow planktons in @steemitfamilyph it's not just good to have followers but you need to transform them into engagers who will keep coming back for more because you take the time to discuss and build relationships with them.

You are doing your own way of enriching the content and success of a gifteconomy in Steemit and you sir deserve a round of applause.

I found it so true that the time constraints eat up the ability to give out more comments and upvotes. Between having a job, family and the need to sleep I would love to do steem full-time someday and if we only didn't need sleep haha.

I wish all of you more success in spreading the love, upvotes and engagement.

Oh, thank you @maverickinvictus, it's all possible because of @fulltimegeek.

Yes, I felt I am not someone who writes big big comments, at the same time, I wanted to make best use of delegation and say thank you to @fulltimegeek by sprinkling the love he has poured on me so that it spreads to more and more people.

Offlate, I have found an way to join some reliable curators, so that I can concentrate on some posts and some of those votes will be done by those curators and I am happy to contribute in a smaller way to those.

Thanks for all the encouragement and wishes. Have a good day and keep interacting. :)

I'm glad you have seen the Stewards in your short time here and hope that you have found some support from them.

Thanks for your comments!

I first learned about SOG when I saw someone resteem your posts on data. Being a huge analytics junkie I was drawn to it immediately.

Thanks to you I started using steem SQL for all sorts of things and getting data and curation posts.

I'm a mainstay of @taskmaster4450 and @stackin. They have great content and have received rewards and I thank both of them for all the posts they made and enriching it further my engaging there readers.

Ahh ok. Yes my 'old life' was data related, so to put that skill to use here is just great.

TM and Stackin are popular dolphins and certainly going places.

Thanks for the information 😊

i regularly get votes from @stackin @lyndsaybowes and @abh12345
thank you @fulltimegeek for delegating power to them.

Great addition @abh12345!:) You mean "bid-bots"?

Screenshot from 2018-01-25 17-33-03.png
Steem is doing great...The Stewards are doing great, any correlation?;)

Reko_3

I did, thank you!

It's hard to compare STEEM to the Stewards performance, but I guess everyone should strive to produce as much solid content as possible while the price is higher than it's been for so long.

Cheers!

Always great to see your weekly updates. Surprisingly you never miss any. Keep up the excellent work. Fellow stewards let's keep hitting that upvote button when you encounter that awesome article till it breaks :)
Thank you @abh12345 and @fulltimegeek.

Thank you @greenrun, this is the post I try to send out the same day each week without fail, and I'm happy to do so knowing it's one that is looked forward to by some.

Thanks for your support

Asher

@abh12345, you are welcome. I like seeing the performance as I never really check it any other way.

Congratulations goodsteward you truly are !

@cwen, thanks a lot

Impressive that you can retrieve data at this level of detail! Anyway, also cool to see how many of my favorite Steemians are on your lists. It's a very interesting initiative you're part of in any case-- this is the sort of thing that will help "real" content be seen in our community.

Thanks @denmarkguy

I hope you've seen the Stewards around on your travels.

The initiative or movement is for me, the biggest act of kindness Steemit is ever likely to see, and I'm proud and privileged to be part of it.

Cheers!
