For those that do not know yet, stemng is a sub-community of steemSTEM, a community-driven project which seeks to promote well-written and informative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics posts by Nigerians on Steemit. The project involves submitting quality STEM-related posts to the steemSTEM management for upvoting and resteeming where applicable.
As we usually do, we have sifted through the stemng tag and even though there were several good posts to choose from, below are the posts that stood out for week #34.
@writeit continues his exploration of the highest mountain in the world- the Mount Everest. The journey is not for the faint of heart, but for all the real adventurers out there it is just another thing to check in their bucket list.
The @emperorhassy writes on measurement, a vital part of the everyday life. Imagine if there is no way to calculate time, or get the precision in bolts and screws which makes a 13-mm bolt made in China to fit a 13-mm screw that was manufactured in the USA. Wednesday : Should We Forget About Artificial Intelligence (AI) And Focus On Intelligence Augmentation (IA)?
Most opponents of AI are fearful that a day will come when artificial intelligence (AI) may go rogue and take over the universe. Some are apprehensive at what the future will look like when AI is given a free reign to pilot over the affairs of humankind. @samminator addresses some of these fears by looking at the prospect of Intelligence Augmentation (IA) instead of the current focus at AI.
