There is a lot of data out there on the effects of cigarettes, however, this does not stop people from continuing to smoke.
In all honestly i have only just been one year after quitting smoking, i have been smoking for close to 30 years. For me i just stopped and that was it, however it is not always that easy for people to stop smoking, we need to take into consideration the psychological effects of addiction.
We are aware that addiction is not just a physical trait but also a mental one, people can be addicted to gambling, sex, video games and much more, many of which do not rely on the intake of a substance , such as nicotine, to become addicted to.
Humans are complex and multifaceted in nature when it comes to these things, there is no "one way" or "right way" , we must use empathy, compassion and understanding if we are to help others and ourselves overcome addiction of any sort.
