Anytime it rain there is always a big possibility of having a thunder storm, either a loud one or from a far distance. In such period when we have a much more brighter lighting, then we all know there is going to be a loud thunderstorm. During this kind of period you will find yourself and everyone around almost sinking to the ground, because at that particular moment you will be forced to bend your head side ways as away of dodging, this particular moment is always kind of funny because you don't really know the actual direction it is going to strike. 😂

Without wasting much of time let me explain the science explanation behind thunderstorm. It should be noted first that without, there will be no thunderstorm. Since we all know immediately after lightning bolt the next sound will be a thunderstorm. So let me start by explaining the process that lead to lightning formation, while i will later go back to where thunderstorm comes in.
Take a relax position as you read, lightning formation in the cloud is a result of attraction between positive charge (protons) and negative charge (electron) which lead an electro static discharge. This might not make sense to you yet, but don't be in a hurry by scrolling down as there is an explanation to this. Permit me to use the scenario by which lightning is created anytime it is about to rain, although there are some other cases by which lightning may occur. Anytime it is about to rain you will notice a dark cloud formation and movement in the atmosphere which is usually a signal to show that it is going to rain. This cloud move usually lead to an upward movement of air upward (buoyance) at this particular point you will start experiencing a cool weather.

ice crystal collision with soft hail, leading to the creation of positive and negative charge

The combination of a change in weather conditions and upward air movement (air draft) lead to a mixture of super cooled cloud droplets (small water droplets below freezing), small ❄ ice crystals and graupel (soft hail). The updraft carries the super-cooled cloud droplet and very small ice crystal upward. While the larger graupel which is considered to be denser fall below the cloud at this particular moment you might start experiencing some rain drop.

During this upward and downward movement, there is always a collision between the rising ice crystals and graupel thereby releasing an electro static energy. Immediately the ❄ ice crystals collide with the graupal, ❄ ice crystals become positively charge while the graupal becomes negatively charged and move below the cloud or within the cloud.
.

Now this is the part where lightning is form, it should be noted that below the earth surface exist a positively charge protons, which can be found on trees, Mountains and any other object below the earth surface. Since the opposite charge always attract each other like a magnetic force. The negative charge(electron) below the cloud surface will attract the positive charge(protons) below the earth surface, there by creating a big pressure in the atmosphere. When the air could not hold this pressure any more, there will be a sudden violent super heated air, which create a forceful electro static channel informs of a sparks, which is known as lightning.
Now when there is a forceful explosion of air along this channel created by lightning, during this process we hear a grumbling sound or a sharp loud sound we called thunderstorm.

How loud a thunderstorm is usually expressed in decibels (db).

In case you don't know ozone is produced anytime there is a thunderstorm and waterfalls. Since the extreme high voltage created by thunderstorm produce ozone from oxygen. It should also be noted that the fresh, clean spring rain smell is as a result of nature produce ozone.

Below are the various lightning that may occur in the process of having a thunderstorm and they are as follows;

  • Cloud to ground lightning: this happen to be the most type of lightning as this is a result of positively charge electron coming from the surface of the earth.

  • inter cloud lightning: this is usually a lightning formation across the surface of the cloud, this does not happen occasionally.

  • Forked lightning: as the name implies this kind of lightning move in a fork like direction away from the storm, it can either move across the cloud or straight to the ground.

the image above shows a forked like lightning

  • heat lightning: this is use to refer to lightning that are only fairly seen across the cloud.

Now you know the most common lightning types, it is high time you get to learn about the various precaution standard that needed to be applied when there is possibility of having a thunder strike. The electric charge release from a thunderstorm is good enough to power an electric bulb for six month, so it is advisable to take the precautionary standard seriously, because you don't want to fall a victim.

  • Avoid a close contact with any dead or rotting tree or branches since the chance is 50/50 it can either collapse or not.

  • Secure yourself by staying indoors whenever there is a lightning or inside a hard top automobile, since you are much more safer inside than staying outside.

  • Wear rubber slippers so as to serve as insulin against any shock.

  • unplug any electronic gadget to avoid high power voltage.

  • Avoid close contact against any concrete structure.

Conclusion

A thunderstorm is an explosion created by lightning after a super heated air which create an electrostatic channel informs of spark. Without lightning there can be no thunderstorm.

This is interesting, maybe make a post explaining how a key opens a car from a distance, that's pretty interesting too :)

I will look into that
While i make a post on it stay tune.

all science stuff is cool stuff. I love this kind of posts, keep it up!

Thank you for stopping by.
